Due to the reviews I thought it would be the most disturbing book ever, but it actually was really heartbreaking and kinda relatable ( the dissociating and maladaptive daydreaming to escape the harsh reality. Not the incest, murder, cannibalism or the whole ending lol). I would actually recommend it, but I guess not everybody would take it seriously.

insane, disturbing, and possibly my favorite book cover ever because it totally conceals the depravity of this story.

I didn’t know what I was getting into.

Knocked down seven times, punched in face eight - and enjoyed it

A story that tests the sympathy for victims who experience very real alienation when society fails them-- and then descend into Kafkaesque madness where humanism means nothing anymore. Earthlings is both a powerful critique of the cultural expectations of women (primarily) in society (read the Kawaii-voice of the acceptably feminine quirky narrate the most twisted subversions/violences imaginable), and a grimdark horror story that elicits shock, possibly more than anything else. This book goes to the provocative extremes until there's nothing but a bleak end left.
