This was a book club selection, not something I'd normally choose. It felt a bit like Jerry Springer crossed with Hallmark channel. Ridiculous, vulgar, bizarre, somewhat compelling, and a neatly wrapped up happily ever after.

Assistant District Attorney Nina Frost prosecutes child molesters, and in the course of her everyday work she endures the frustration of seeing too many criminals slip through the system and walk free. So when she receives the awful news that her son Nathaniel has been sexually abused and is so traumatised that he is now mute, she takes justice into her own hands.
This was another powerhouse from Jodi Picoult. The writing was very purposeful, and it attacked the topic with gusto. Child abuse is a topic that’s never easy to deal with, and I admire the approach in this book. The prologue immediately grabbed me, and I was captivated till the last page.
I was really glad I didn’t read the synopsis before jumping in, as it allowed me to be fully present for the journey. And what a ride it was! I also read this as part of a buddy read and the discussions were just amazing.
This book was surprising, unsettling, gutwrenching, and thought-provoking. It was emotionally exhausting for sure, but the writing was outstanding. This was one that would stay with me for a long time!
Perfect Match is the second Jodi Picoult novel I've read, and I was truly impressed by how well-researched and thoughtfully written it is. The premise of the story raises a critical issue that many of us may not often confront: What happens when we realize the legal system is likely to fail in delivering true justice? Picoult does an exceptional job of exploring this complex theme.
I particularly appreciated the character of Nina, who felt very real and multi-dimensional. As an imperfect yet inspiring female lead, Nina’s journey is one of self-discovery (one where she doesn't love all of the results). The twists in the story, especially the one near the end, were shocking, and they tied the novel’s central message together powerfully.
I gave this book five stars for the depth of its themes and the way it kept me fully engaged from start to finish. The questions raised throughout are thought-provoking, and I found myself reflecting on them long after I finished the book.
The novel includes graphic descriptions of repeated sexual abuse, murder, and sensitive discussions about survivors of sexual assault.

The thing I love most about Jodi Picoult's books is that no matter how many of them I read, I am still surprised by the twists she puts into her plots. This is another example of the same.
