What can I say at this point, Jodi Picoult is one fav authors and she delivers here a great book about how far the love of a mother can go.
Nina is not a typical mother who has learns to deal with her child being abused, she saw it numerous times but now she was in a different position.
I felt that both parents very well designed as humans and as parents because they show the two sides, the rage, the sadness, the misbelief everything you can think about it as a father or a mother.
As in any Jodi's classic book this one has also a court scene and is very intense and intriguing and i loved it.
The writing style is on point multiple POV but just being small paragraphs or whitout introduction who is speaking can kinda become confusing.
Now the two not so positive aspects of this book, I felt Nathaniel voice very older for his age with a lot of inshight and knowledge that may be a small kid as he is would not have, and the last the Patrick arc which I felt unnecessary.

Overall another great Jodi Picoult's book!

It's very hard to talk about this book without spoiling it. I found i enjoyed the second half more as I found the subject matter quite disturbing and unpleasant to read about.

I liked this book much better than "my sister's keeper" so may try another one of Picoult's books at a later date

While I am a huge fan of several other Jodi Picoult novels, I found this one entirely unrealistic. The characters' actions never seemed to have consequences, and they were able to do awful things with no repercussions. I did not enjoy this book.

Oh my gosh. I am shook.

There is a reason Jodi Picoult is infamous. This book perfectly captures her immense talent. I'm left speechless after this book.

For starters, I had to pace myself because the subject matter was so heavy. There were some days I couldn't stomach reading something so emotional. It was beautiful, but heavy.

Picoult's work within the character dynamics was immaculate. Caleb and Nina were both complex characters that blurred the lines of morality. The reader was constantly guessing because of the selective truths each character wanted to reveal. It was a clever writing trick. Patrick, Quentin, Nathaniel, etc, all served as nuanced characters who weren't all good, but not all bad. Each one had a skeleton in the closet, except for Nathaniel. Picoult really captured the mind of a child in him. His thoughts were deep, yet innocent. His mental struggles were apparent, but so were his pure intentions.

The pacing and the storytelling was perfect. Each turn of the page kept me on edge. There was tension between every line from beginning to end.

THAT ENDING!

This will take some mental recovery, but Picoult has cemented herself as one of my favorite authors.

You have to give it to Jodi Picoult, she knows how to draw you into a story. Part of me dislikes everything about her stories and part of me loves them. I have to give it 4 stars, because I just had to find out what happened, even if it wasn't truely believable.
