Kind of a disappointment after the great characterization and likable people in the first 2 of the trilogy, but still a fun read. Also features people actually talking about their feelings, which is always a pleasant surprise. Also lots of cravat talk.

It did pick up eventually (and then was too rushed) but not as enjoyable as other books by this author. The premise was good, and there were some good moments, but the pacing made the book a struggle.

This book is...not great. Both of the characters are terrible and there's no chemistry between them. I have no idea what they see in each other because I don't see anything redeemable in either. Maybe that means they deserve each other?

The book did show the characters seeing their own flaws by the end, and promising to do better. Of course the book didn't *show* them doing better, and we have no reason to believe they would.

Joss and Hetie are the best parts of this book. It's interesting how the book literally jumped to Joss' perspective a few times. I don't think I've seen Tessa Dare do that with any of her other books.

Skimmed thoroughly. Bel was difficult to read, and Toby was disappointing.

While many of the reviews of seen of this book criticize the heroine for being a weak female, I highly disagree. She is strong in her convictions, and stubborn in holding to her beliefs. Just because those beliefs represent a set of values not commonly held in esteem in the current era does not mean she is anti-feminist. Nor does it mean she is weak. On the contrary, her devotion to her duty, to her honor set her apart from many.

Very rare for me to give 4.5 - 5 stars for an entire trilogy! While I still consider [b:Goddess of the Hunt|6014608|Goddess of the Hunt (Goddess Trilogy, #1)|Tessa Dare|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1240427246s/6014608.jpg|6189889] as the most entertaining and enthralling, this is a close second for some reason. Possibly because it was such a glorious romp, all round shamelessly and unabashedly good fun. The characters, Toby and Isabel, are essentially insipid (though I had hoped they'd improve themselves) and impetuous, but I still loved them.
