4.5⭐️ This was such a fun read! It was funny, suspenseful and even creepy at times. I really enjoyed it.
Rain, a criminal profiler for the FBI, is a medium who can see and talk to ghosts. Unfortunately, he hates it and no one believes him. The whole situation is pretty hilarious. I freaking loved the writing and all the quick-witted, dry humor. I loved Rain and his wacky hippy family and I really loved the ghosts, especially the adorable and snarky Ethan!
The exciting and suspenseful murder mystery is the main plot here but there’s also a sweet second-chance romance with his new partner and ex-boyfriend Danny. This book ends with a HFN. I’m excited to read more from Rain and Danny in book 2!
“I took the time to go home and change. Spruce myself up a bit. I smoothed back my hair. You should look snazzy when you’re getting fired.”
“Don’t you fall in lust, I warned my dick. Don’t you fall in love, it warned me right back.”
“He sent me a wink. “Don’t worry about it. You’re still hot. I’d hit it. Still can if you want.”
“I’ll pass on the ghost dick, thanks.”
“No matter how much I bitched about my job, I loved to solve a fucking mystery. It was in my blood. One part white blood cells, one part plasma, one part nosy motherfucker.”

Pretty great, but I'm on a Big Bad Wolf hangover. It was weird not seeing the start/end of a relationship. The banter feels a touch forced. I love the ghosts and it feels like the start of something good.
4.5* of new author goodness
This is the first book by this author that I have read and am reaching for book two in the series immediately after I have written this.
The storyline and chemistry between the characters, grabbed my attention from the start, as did Rain's reluctance to acknowledge the ghosts that are desperately trying to get his attention. Danny and Rain's relationship starts with a deep chill that thawed and heated into something very passionate, I am really looking forward to seeing how their relationship develops.

This was a reread, and I loved it just as much the second time. Rain and Danny’s story is the perfect blend of romance, banter, and paranormal intrigue. Their chemistry is off the charts, and the ghostly elements add an extra layer of tension and fun. A truly great read from start to finish.
This was enjoyable. I liked both Rain and Danny and even the little glimpses we got at the secondary characters. Will definitely be diving straight into book two. Fun and a little bit different.
Loved this so much. I'd been looking for a mystery/ romance book for a while and this hit the spot. Just wish there was a little bit more angst between the couple, felt like the got back together way too easily.

Where do I even start with this book? It was SO good!
•
While this book was more on the slow burn side, the mystery aspect kept me glued to my kindle. At least during the last half, because I did struggle with the beginning. Mostly because the paranormal part wasn't a big role like the past few books I've read have been.
•
But I really did love this book! I didn't know I'd like mystery romances until this one. The mystery was different than other ones that I've read (ie Bite Me and The Curse of Redwood), and it was very enjoyable.
•
Also, I loved Danny and how protective he was of Rain. It was clear that he still loved Rain, that he never stopped loving or caring about him. Their relationship, while bumpy, was great to read. I loved how well they knew each other, even after being apart for a few years.
•
Rain finally figuring out what he was and wanting to help the ghosts that found him was really good, too. I'm glad he learned to accept that part of him, and helped families find peace.
•
I plan to read the rest of the series sometime (probably next year), and I'm really looking forward to it. Highly recommend this book, though!

This book was WAY funnier than it has any right to be! But Rain's journey as a FBI agent/medium who is trying to solve cold cases while being stalked by sarcastic nosy ghosts and working with his hot AF ex who he definitively doesn't want to get back together with (scratch that, this boy is HOPELESS) IS just so damned entertaining. It's like X-Files, Ghost Whisperer and Castle had a hot gay ghost book baby. I can't wait to devour the whole series. Also the sex scenes were INTIMATE, SWEET, and SO DELICIOUSLY SPICY!
