“Don’t be the air to his fire. Bring the flames down. Be baking soda. Be baking soda.”
Oh my gosh, I loved loved looooooved this book so much!! I never really thought that detective/medium books would be something I’d enjoy so much but after the last few I’ve read being huge hits I am changing my mind on that notion.
Rain isn’t at all happy with his gift of being able to see and talk to the dead. It’s almost cost him his job and tarnished his reputation -- he just isn’t having it. But, that’s just too bad. His boss is sending him back to his hometown to solve a cold case of a missing teenager and it turns out that gift if just what it’s going to take to solve it. And, on top of it all, he has to work with his ex, Danny, who he may or may not still be in lust (love) with. But, can Rain get his happy ending when everywhere he turns there are ghosts demanding his help and someone hellbent on their dirty secret not being uncovered.
Did I already say I loved this? I liked Rain and his snarky comments, I liked his relationship with Danny, I liked the ghosts that popped up, especially one in particular who left me feeling sad at the end but most of all I liked trying to guess who the culprit was. That’s kind of a weird reason but it made this book so fascinating to me. This was a first read for me by this author but boy am I hooked for life now.
If you’re into snarky mediums, second chance romances, murder mysteries and ghosts that have no problem saying things like they are -- this one is for YOU.
5 stars!!!

Gay, paranormal Criminal Minds? Don't mind if I do. This one was fun. The banter between Rain and Danny was top tier. I'm interested to see how the series progresses.

Ghostly
This was a lot of fun. I liked the chemistry between Rain and Danny (and Rain’s family). I enjoyed the way it ended. There were quite a few laugh out loud moments, which I wasn’t expecting, and I’m about to start the sequel. Yay to reading series that are finished! At least I think it is...

M/m contemporary romance where the main character is an FBI profiler AND talks to ghosts. I am not interested in para normally but really liked this a lot.
Well whatta ya know. I went into it hesitant and ending up loving it! Count me a fan. I liked the romance, the steam, both MCs and the family members, and even the ghosts.
The story is told in the POV of Rain, aka Rainstorm. Yes he has hippy weed smoking parents. His twin sister is named Sky and she's just as hippy. Rainstorm, not so much. He's the straightlaced FBI profiler who wears suits that scream G-man. He also sees and can communicate with ghosts.
At first Rain thinks he may be certifiable, as do his fellow FBI members which lands him on psychiatric leave. This is where the story begins; Rain coming back from leave. His boss sends him back to his hometown, his version of laying low, to work on a cold case. What a coinkydink that Rain's ex Danny is a cop there and is also assigned to this cold case.
The story builds from there. Old feelings, or maybe feelings that never died, start to resurface between the two. All the while Rain is communicating with ghosts trying to solve the disappearance of a young girl. Danny is skeptical, but he listens to Rain's tips and follows up on them. Ethan, a teenage ghost, sort of helps Rain by introducing him to certain ghosts during the case.
The banter between Danny and Rain is great. Rain is my favorite type of MC, full of snark and never knows when to STFU. Danny takes it in stride, often getting in his own jabs. I honestly couldn't get enough. When the story was over, I still wanted more. I wanted a whole other book even. Thats when I know I truly enjoyed a story. So I am rating this 4.5 stars .
