This book was so so good!

What I think I loved most about it was, despite the paranormal, unrealistic element of ghosts being real added into this story, it was also hyper realistic in everything else. The monotony of real life sometimes, the not-always-100 percent-exciting life of an FBI Agent/Detective, and Rain and Danny's relationship.

I loved that a lot with their relationship too, because as frustrating as these boys were with their miscommunication and their unwillingness for so long to let each other fully in, it was written in such away that it was understandable. I mean, how DO you tell your boyfriend that you see ghosts and not expect him to think you're crazy? Rain leaving Danny three years prior to the start of this is understandable because of that, as is the fact that he's still in love with Danny, but his fear of Danny seeing his full self, who sees ghost and all, holds him back, and seemed to have held him back in their four year relationship.

Danny did react, at first, kind of how Rain had been scared for so long how he'd react - which kind of disappointed me even as I had to understand it, because I know I would react like Danny if someone I knew told me they saw ghosts. I wouldn't believe it for a second - but he worked through it and came to believe Rain and they were stronger for it.

I loved how their love was realistic too, it wasn't OTT, but it was still strong and passionate and real - also the sex, whooo boy was it hot. I actually made me react to it and feel things *wink wink* and have to fan myself a little. I love sex scenes so much, but if they're more perfunctory with barely any emotion behind it - like a porn scene in written form - or passion, it doesn't generally do anything for me. But when sex scenes are written like they were in this book then I LOVE them, like sign me the fuck up ;)

Such an enjoyable book, and I have a new author to be a fan of. Already want to read other books by them. Definitely recommend :D

Not for me.

I've heard so many good things about this book that I had to read it. I had no expectations but still, the book was pretty underwhelming.

I didn't really liked the interactions between the MCs and I just wasn't invested in their relationship, past or present.

The mystery was interesting enough but it didn't really shocked me, I liked the paranormal aspect and I would like to read a sequel with the Rain more comfortable with his gift.

A fun gay BAU story with a paranormal twist of the main character being able to see ghosts. I enjoyed all the characters and especially the main couple. I liked the writing, but found the dialogue a but like coming into a conversation between a couple and not getting the references. But be warned it has explicit sex scenes. I hope to continue in the series, just to see where the new Paranormal Police unit goes, it could be interesting.

4.5 so cute. and I loved Ethan. I would've liked to see more of Danny and Rain as a couple and really hope that this is the beginning of a series.

This is a very well-liked book, I was expecting to love it just the same... only I don't. It was okay. The end was better than the beginning, a million times over, which boosted my score up a star than I was going to give it. You can tell how I feel about a book by how long it takes me to read it, and this one took me two-three days...

The mystery... I figured it out weeeeeelllll before they were even mentioned as a possible suspect. That's my problem though, I generally am good at figuring these kinds of things out. So, it takes a huuuuge plot twist for me to be thrown for a loop. Still, the mystery was well written and well-paced and the focus of the majority of the story, instead of the relationship.

TBH, for 93% of the book I just didn't feel it between Danny and Rain, did anyone else feel that way?
I now understand that this book is a series, and there is another book with these characters, so the relationship-building had to be very very slow so there is something for the next book. I didn't realize that until the end though, so it just left something to be desired until then.

Also, didn't Rain's self-acceptance seem to come out of nowhere? All of a sudden he was just fine with himself, moving home, etc. I felt like I was missing something there too.

I'm interested in reading the next book, to see if I like it more than this one.

**Level of Smut is referring to how to tame vs explicit it is, which is why I went with this rating system. THIS IS NOT A RATING ON HOW MUCH I LIKED THE SMUT. Kissing and/or making out does not count as smut. Also, when I say ‘sex scene’, if someone has an orgasm, I’m considering it a sex scene; no matter how they get there. G (Score of 1) - No smut PG (2) - 1 sex scene books PG- 13 (3) - 2 sex scene books
R (4)- Your standard 3 sex scene book. These generally aren’t as long of sex scenes or as descriptive.
X-Rated (5) - all the good stuff is in here, baby, and a hell of a lot of it. This would also mean that the story is extremely descriptive, as well.

*** Quality of Smut is referring to how well the smut is written, according to my tastes. I have certain words and kinks, etc, that I am not a fan of and will automatically drop it down if I see it. That may not be the same case for you. I’ll try to include my reasoning if there’s anything specific. (A+ = 5 - E = 1)

**** Did it Make Me Sweat ;) ? Tbh, did it turn me on? Did I want to read more and more sex scenes (The answer is almost always yes)? This is different from quality because of the simple fact that the smut doesn’t ALWAYS have to be A+ quality to make me sweat… or does it??? I guess we’ll see.

Technically 4.something stars but rounding up because the book deserves it.

This book let me live a fantasy I didn’t realize I wanted: half Sin and Cocolate half Criminal Intentions realness!!!

Loved the story, the mystery, the supporting characters, Rain and Danny so so much.

My only gripes are hyper personal preferences like not loving second chance romances or how Rain isn’t moping around because no one believes him the whole damn time lmao. I love a pity party! Sue me!!!!
But that’s a me problem. Can’t hold that against the book.

I’m glad this isn’t a stand alone because I need more time with Rain and Danny outside of “ah were exes and this is awkward”. Excited to read the next book!

3.5 stars

I liked this story it was engaging and I enjoyed the Paranormal aspect, but Danny and Rain, at times I couldn't feel the chemistry.

I think that if we had more chemistry or something with the two I would have enjoyed it more. Everything felt a little surface level. I did enjoy listening to the book though, I have started and stopped this book about 2 times before grabbing the audio book and finishing it.

I think that I will wait until my Scribd will let me listen to book two, I don't want to use a credit on Audible for the second book.

Overall enjoyable, but wished for more.

Solid paranormal mystery romance. Would definitely read a second!

3.8 not enough ghosts
