I rarely read M/M romances, but yesterday night; I couldn't sleep and something about this called to me! And I am so glad it did!

Loved the characters, the humor, the paranormal plot line with mystery and two insanely hot heroes I fell in love with the moment I met both of them - not to mention how wonderfully descriptive the plot line is!

But for me, the best part was the writing - it was enchanting and brilliant! Loved the simplicity yet how it was able to suck me in within minutes of me starting to read! :D

This is my first read by this author and I honestly want more from her. Next paycheck goes to the PI Guy Series! <3

Another one not normally up my alley. I was a little eh about the whole ghost thing but it ended up being great. The interactions with the ghosts, especially Ethan, were hilarious, and as strange as it is to say this, realistic. I mean, imagine suddenly discovering you could talk to ghosts. Yeah Harmon nailed it and nailed with humor. I loved the mystery aspect, and it even took me awhile to piece together who. The romance was sweet and just enough to add a little spice to the book without making the story a full out romance (which I don't mind but I do love a good mystery too). Nice blending of genres here. Really hope we get to see Rain and "Irish" again.

I had a really promising start with this novel, so I was sure I was going to really like the series, but then I didn't. I actually thought about dropping it a few times, but it wasn't completely bad, so I pushed through.

Let's first start with Rain's ability since that's a pretty big part of the novel. I'm not sure when exactly he started seeing ghosts, he said he didn't know himself when it happened, but from his telling I got the impression it was since he was a kid, maybe, and yet his behaviour indicated he discovered it about two months ago. It was very confusing and inconsistent. Actually, Rain was inconsistent overall, both about his abilities and his relationship with Danny. I got a loooot of mixed signals from him. And when I found out that Rain and Sky were actually twins I was even more confused as to why he didn't talk to Sky about it. Actually, how could he not talk to his own twin sister about it? I just can't find any reason why he wouldn't. Same for Sky.

Then let's go to the writing style. The novel is written from Rain's perspective, 1st person, but on two occasions 3rd person sneaks in (the first when Rain and Danny speak with Margaret and Jenna, and the second when Rain and Danny are startled by Kevin while they look through the storage unit) and I did not appreciate that. 3rd person is my preferred storytelling to read a book in and to be teased about it was not nice. Another thing that didn't sit well with me was Jenna's brother's name changing from Aaron to Austin. And yet another thing: the use of 'that' instead of 'who'. There might have been others I didn't notice, but needless to say I think this novel could have been edited better.

Rain and Danny's relationship was a mess. They were obviously the right person for each other as far as compatibility went, but too fucking stubborn to completely trust each other. I found that to be unrealistic given how long they've been together. If you can't trust a person after four years of relationship then what are you still doing with that person? It makes no sense. I found their breakup to be so tame as well. They easily let go of each other despite being so madly in love that years later they still weren't over one another. How does that make any bit of sense?

As for the investigation, it was entertaining. If I were to take a wild guess I'd say the author was vastly inspired by mainstream FBI this and CSI that TV shows that the action got a very screen like feel. I wouldn't describe it as realistic, but it was not terrible, so there's that.

The novel didn't catch my attention enough to continue reading the series, I actually thought about dropping it a few times; when I was bored for the first half, when I wondered what age Sky's kids actually were because I was under the impression they were toddlers, but when they spoke I thought they were teenagers, and then when I genuinely asked Rain if he was stupid (and this is a first for me) in the most honest way when he was thinking about Danny being with someone else when literally everything up until that point indicated that Danny wanted him just as much. But then again, I kind of wanted to see if he did actually get to visit his dad after mentioning it a few times (no, he didn't) and to see how everything pans out. I also found it odd that Sky's husband didn't have anything to say, he was more of a ghost than the actual ghosts.

There's a lot of things that stalled in this novel and that's a real shame because the series had the potential of being really funny and interesting. Maybe they pick up in the sequels, but like I said, there really isn't much to make me want to continue reading the series.

Oh, I liked this one. A lot!

Rain is a wonderful character. All of them are, really, and I'm looking forward to getting to know Rain's family better :P

The mystery is great, and well-plotted, with enough red herrings to make it hard to crack until the end. But what I enjoyed the most was Rain's journey: from absolute denial to embracing his gift; from guarding himself so tightly that nobody could get close, to trusting the people around him. It's really, really well done.

The story is very well written, particularly Rain's inner dialogues, which were fantastic; the whole thing was simply delightful.

I'll get the next book in this series ASAP :P
