This had a nice story but felt very rushed at the end. As an avid reader of all WW2 historical fiction, I wanted more out of this one. It felt like the author was trying to do too much, which led to surface-level aspects of the story that felt forced.

Historical novels set in WWII are done of my favs - this was no exception. Nothing twisty or dark with this one, just a really good story with a feel good end - I loved it!

Sentimental historical fiction about London during the Blitz. The story is predictable, but it is a nice introduction to life in London during WW2.

Grace and Viv, two independent leave behind their unfulfilled  lives in the country to move to London just before the start of the war. Gradually their lives as a sales clerk at Harrods snd a bookseller at Primrose Bookshop are impacted by the war.

There is bravery, loss, rations, a kitten, plucky girls, dance bands, death, victory gardens and romance.

Books, hope and community take center stage in this feel-good novel.

An easy and enjoyable read! I liked the way the story progressed, even though there was no really defined plot. It felt more like a story. The historical recounting kept me hooked and I actually learned a little bit, too. The main characters were likeable and cheesy at points. It had a really sweet ending which was absolutely zero surprise.

I found this quite an interesting book to read. I did feel like the ending was a little flat.

Great story! I loved the bookstore aspect. It made me miss my librarian job and former bookstore job. Great details on the war too.
