This is a fantastic, slow-burn book that is quite refreshing. The tension builds and doesn't stop until the very end.
Really was enjoying it, but that ending sidles up to you and awkwardly gives you nothing.
This book was powerful and pretty and sad and the ending made me choke up but I would read it all over again. I really am on a streak of great books this year.

I loved the writing of this book. It was beautiful and atmospheric, but bleak.

I wanted to love this book and I almost did. When I saw it was historical fiction, women-centered, medieval, Nordic, lesbian novel I was thrilled. That really checks all my boxes. And I really did enjoy it but the ending tarnished it for me.
