medium-paced

Fails to continue on the rush created by the first book. A bit aimless. Song lyrics composed by Sam are a bit painful to read so mostly I skipped them. Last half of the book picked up the pace somewhat. I liked it and will be reading the last one, but I can't help but zero in on several amateur-ish mistakes (?) that take me out of the immersion in the book. It's stiefvater, who I love, but she has not honed her craft to the degree I've grown used to.

This is a reread. I read this back in middle school and this gets a five star review mostly because this was such a nostalgic book for me. Back in my teenage years, I adopted a lot of Sam's traits as my own, mostly the paper crane folding and taping it to my ceiling. This book I feel was much more entertaining and better done than Shiver. A very entertaining and fast reread, I can't wait to finish the series and crack into the fourth book that wasn't out when I was originally reading it as a trilogy.

Much more interesting than the last. The writing is strong as ever, and I love the depth of the new characters.

As the second book in the Wolves of Mercy Falls series, Linger didn't disappoint!
After so much seemed wrapped up at the end of the first book I wasn't sure where the author would go with the series, but with the addition of a couple new characters and a few unforeseen events it proved to actually have more going on than the first book of the series!
I look forward to the conclusion in book 3.

I loved SHIVER with a mad, passionate, crazy love. I did not love LINGER the same way, though the writing is just as beautiful. It's a very different book and I'm eagerly anticipating FOREVER, hoping it brings the series back towards the mood of SHIVER.
