This was so good!

Reads like a movie/anime/manga. There were a lot of characters and any of the characters could have been the main character. Even though there was a lot going on and the plot was very fast paced, I wasn't confused one bit.

I bought this with the second book so I can't understand the pain of waiting 13 years for the sequel, but I don't doubt that was hard for y'all.

This one had been on my radar for ages, so it pains me to have to DNF it, but past the 50% mark, it started going downhill for me.

To start off, it's very insta love-y - the protagonist questions whether the male lead loves her, within knowing him for a day or two. Their initial encounter us also filled with plot inconsistencies that eventually became too much to ignore on my part.

The fighting scenes are very well detailed though. If you don't mind that they take up the majority of the story, alongside long-winded storytelling, then this might be the book for you. However, it started bugging me once the non-action scenes continued to be rushed and glossed over. Largely the fact that this read more like a Light Novel didn't bother me, but the glaring inequality in detail made me bored.

Overall I'm sad to have to DNF this as I had really been looking forward to reading it! It just wasn't for me.
