In all due seriousness, the crazy is utterly justified by the set-up over the course of the entire series, and pretty darn well executed. Character growth, some fairly solid progressions in education within the provided framework, and a very enjoyable read.
And, coming back to it a fifth time, yep, this series really makes me happy every single time.
