I could write an essay on what a selfish, hypocritical, judgmental, ungrateful, evil little demon Willowdean is (and I have in many, many text rants to my friends) but suffice to say I was genuinely surprised she didn't get struck by lightning when Bo took her to church.

This is honestly a 3.75 rating for me, but lets round it to a 4.

Honestly, this book was so refreshing to read.

1. because I'm from South Texas (waaay south, think the very, very tip of TX) and I can confirm her comments on the weather.
2. it's nice to read a book about a plus size character, and enter a different frame of mind from typical YA females.

I really relate tot he character because I've been plus-sized my whole life and sometimes it's nice to get confirmation that you're not the only one who's ever felt a certain way. And even though the book is probably mostly about Willowdean's weight, it didn't feel like that. It felt more like a girl going through her stages of grief and trying to find herself.

I was kind of upset with the ending because WHY WOULD IT END LIKE THAT, but it makes me anticipate the next book even more!
