Wasn't as incredible as the first book to me, but still enjoyed it as a whole and am no less invested in the greater story, especially with how the 3rd act left things. Some of Tad's best scenes and chapters to this point were present in this book (Hello chapter 15), but at the same time some of the pacing in the middle portion especially was a drag to get through at times. The Dragonbone Chair was also slower paced, but it felt more necessary and I really enjoyed the slower pace and it's function within that book a lot more. With Stone of Farewell it really does feel like it suffered from middle book syndrome, in that a lot of it was characters going from place to place in preparation for the finale, or spending time with characters already at their end destination while we wait for other characters to get to their own.
Significantly better than the first book, but the author still really struggles with pacing and building satisfying story arcs.
