Pregnancy and miscommunication tropes
I read this not knowing it was a sort of “prequel” to the next book which takes place five years later. I felt myself missing the wonderful Ana Huang adult spice from the Kings of Sin series. College kids love story was not really what I was hoping for. I’m finding book tok needs to put more YA labels on things- can I start a petition for YA to end at college? Starting book 2 now - hoping for the AH spice!

I received an advanced review copy of this book for free and am voluntarily writing this review. Thank you NetGalley and huge thanks to the publisher.
Ana, you’ve done it again. A gut wrenching, heartbreaking but amazing story. I haven’t been in a huge reading mood, but I picked this up yesterday and finished it today. I cried so much I have a headache right now. I’m right there with Farrah and Blake.
You’ve done a wonderful job making us all yearn, and putting us into Shanghai with you. This group of friends and their adventures has been so much fun to ride along with. I love that Ana does always write stories with super supportive friend groups involved. I love that there’s always depth. I don’t love that it seems like something fishy happened with Blake without his knowledge. I guess I’ll see in the next one!?!?! But Cleo and his people back home definitely suck.
Thanks for writing this one, Ana!

If We Ever Meet Again by Ana Huang is the first book in the If Love series. Farrah is an aspiring interior designer and Blake is an ex football star who are both attending college in Shanghai. One believes in love and wants the fairytale and the other thinks real love doesn’t exist.
This was a decent read. I listened to it on audio and the dual narrators were good. I love when a book has the dual narrators. I think it definitely adds a lot of depth and dynamic to the story!
I will continue with the series as I am interested in seeing how Farrah and Blake’s story ends.
