1/5 🌶️
Narrators matched the characters. No complaints.
I liked getting to hear this story and the way Devney wrote it as if Aubrey was telling the story to Charlie.

⭐⭐⭐⭐ Loved it! Would recommend, almost perfect and likely would reread.
Aubrey Kendrick is dedicated to her family legacy, valuing time as millions. Labelled a workaholic by her ex, she prioritizes her success over stifling relationships. Enter Landon McClellan, infuriating yet handsome, who disrupts her life with spontaneity. Despite being a distraction she can't afford, Landon might just be everything Aubrey needs.
DEVNEY YOU ARE TEASING ME!
Their dynamic is impeccable—Aubrey's workaholic nature doesn't faze Landon. They have so many sweet natural moments together that felt so authentic to a normal couple. Landon is a many of words like he could charm anyone into anything and makes everyone feel like queens. While it's a novella it was still very well fleshed out.
Tropes: opposites attract, guy falls first

We first meet Landon in Tinsel as the cop who takes her statement after she was mugged. He is on the hunt for his perfect match, and while Sophia refused him, she did so because of a broken heart. However, when she pushed him towards Aubrey, she knew that he would be attracted to Aubrey's backbone.
When we first meet Aubrey, she is growing tired of the demand on her, wishing she had some support in her corner. But female Billionaires are always expected to have it together, work harder, never be emotional, etc, and she's finding trouble dialing that back now that her thoughts are straying to Landon and his annoying phone calls and office visits.
Though there wasn't a ton of wallowing in feelings, there were plenty of inner monologues on Aubrey's part. We didn't get a ton of depth to Landon, just a go with the flow kind of dude who was looking for an equal partner and had a bit of a complicated story with his family that we only hear about towards the end as things are wrapping up. There was still plenty of angst and anticipation though to wrap up this series! I have to say, Tragic was probably my favorite of the series!
