Hello, I Hope Somebody is Listening

This novel blew me away. The characters and their stories are so intricate and so realistic. I felt as if a friend was telling me something that happened to them. There’s so much growth and change. It also shows the strengths in different kinds of relationships- friends, lovers, family, and so on. The little makeshift family that the characters end up with really cements most of the themes the author conveys throughout the book.

Also the novel title?? Absolutely brilliant.

I love everything about this book. It’s tragic and heartbreaking and fun and it’s nice to finally see an author who knows how teenagers speak and act. I loved all the characters and they felt complex as opposed to the one dimensional characters you get in a lot of young adult stories.

Okay, but who is gonna pay for my therapy after this???
Holy shit... I don't know what to say. This is just SO good.

I can relate SO much to Aled:
- Being scared of doing something else than what is expected of you. And just doing what is expected, because that's the easiest path in life.
- Not knowing your sexuality
- Aiming for good grades in school, but not knowing who you are doing it for, because it's not yourself.
- Keeping something you love a secret.

Thank you Alice Oseman.

such a beautiful book about friendship, identity, and the freedom to choose what you want to do with your life. the whole book was a definition of an emotional rollercoaster

Wow! This is the kind of teen stuff I would still read as a 29 year old!

Creative and simply well done! A very realistic storyline, which feels dreamy just the right amount. NOT a cliché.

If you like John Green's books, don't think twice before picking this one.

There's so much depth to each character and the author does a great job at further building their characters and their storylines.
The language is simple, gripping and has a beautiful narration that keeps flowing smoothly.
The book has short chapters that make you go "just one more chapter" very easily, even for those of us who are in a reading slump.

This kinda book is the reason why I don't fancy self help books. Radio Silence teaches you a lot about life, as long as you enjoy it with an open mind and heart.

Overall, I haven't fallen in love with my book characters as much as I did with those in this book. I also loved the way all kinds of relationships have been portrayed in it.

This was my first book from Alice Oseman and I'll definitely get back to more of her books when I need a good YA.
Thank you, Alice Oseman!
