This was just as exhilarating and creepy as the first book in the series and now I’m so excited for the next one that will surely be as haunting and chilling as the first two. Just like the first one I loved the true crime and interview elements peppered throughout the book. While reading this book I had to keep pausing the audiobook or setting down the physical book to double check the doors and windows all around my house before continuing especially at most of the spine-chilling scenes. I recommend this series to anyone who is a true crime fan or just a fan of unsettling thrillers that will keep you up at night.
This is the second in a trilogy & the conceit is so dang fun. The author takes his real-life life - family, hometown, first-person narrative - and inserts it into a fictional crime story. I'm envious I didn't think of this first. The mystery itself is a liiiiitle far-fetched and I'm not sure it totally works (it starts to drag) but the framing is such a page turner that I can't wait for the third.

Love the format and style of writing. This sequel wasn't quite as intriguing as book #1, but I found it difficult to put down. I felt "on the edge of my seat" throughput the whole book.
