Had no idea what this story was about before reading. Was not expecting one of the sadder and more intense books of this month of reading. Personally, I don't find the MC redeemed after everything. He was possibly the worst, most cowardly character I have read in recent history. He made me want to spit. Truly despicable.

Wow. After I finished this book I had to sit for a few minutes just to take it all in. Absolutely flawless, heart-wrenching writing.
