This was very “invisible string” coded and i absolutely loved it. I loved watching their singular journeys and their journey to one another. It was cute and cozy and also deep and sweet.
fast-paced
Such a cute read! I recommend reading it around NY to get the full vibe, and it's also a nice reminder and motivation of everything that can change and happen in a year. I will definitely check out Cousen's other books aswell.
Book Review: This Time Next Year by Sophie Cousens ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
What a great book to start the new year off with! I loved the characters and loved the premise of the story! I felt bad for Minnie Cooper, as I can’t imagine how mean kids were to her as she grew up. But I loved the different perspectives and I loved that Cousens kept going back to different New Years Eves to discuss what happened. All in all, I really enjoyed this book! Another great Book of the Month pick! #bookofthemonth #bookishbounds #booksofinstagram #bookstagram #bookstagrammer #readersofinstagram #booklover #booknerd #bookworm #ilovereading #bookone #goodreads #goodreadschallenge2021 #bookrecommendation #bookreview

3.5⭐️ it was cute and I liked the chemistry of the main couple a lot. Wish it would have a little more time of them actually together.

A sweet love story. Clever story line. I'd recommend it!
2.5 stars. There were some things I liked about this book, but mainly it just missed the mark for me.

I have to say that it was refreshing that the two main characters never slept together. That was something I really enjoyed. The conversation and banter between them was also enjoyable. It felt real and normal and began to give me the feels. But I’m the end it just never came together. I didn’t get the ending, Minnies struggle. It felt half-assed honestly. And I wished they would have gotten more into how they crossed paths throughout their lives. I was waiting for one of them to be like “your fangirl90” or “it was you at the restaurant” or something. Yes at the end he realized it was her that he had kissed but it was a bit too little too late at that point.

I can tend to shy away from choosing a love story for my @bookofthemonth choice - but this one hit all the rights notes! Here's what is had that I like in a love story:
- good supporting characters that have interesting quirks!
- conflict that isn't based on lack of communication
- character and/or couple growth
The premise of this one was cute & fun too - Minnie spends much of her life believing she's unlucky because she was the second baby born in the new year - and the first "stole" her mom's intended name for her. Of course - the love interest is the first baby born that year - Quinn. They've known of each other forever, but when they meet on their birthday as adults they begin to move past what they've believed about each other, and themselves. All around a good one!

A NYE romance for anyone looking for holiday appropriate reads! Reading it felt like a mashup of The People We Meet on Vacation, Always in December, and One Day (ok, I haven't actually read One Day yet, but I'm making assumptions based on the movie and TV show!).
I'm not sure if it's because I have a disposition for sobbing while reading on Amtrak or what, but I cried on and off for most of the 2nd half of the book...but I think that might have just been a me thing.
I just really loved this. The story intertwined between past and present and changes perspectives between Minnie and Quinn. Minnie takes lead on most of the chapters but I really enjoyed getting snippets of Quinn’s story as well. As with most books that lure me in I enjoyed the humor between Quinn and Minnie. Beyond the typical rom-com story there is also a lot about friendship, families, passions, and so much more. There was more depth to the story than I thought there would be going into it.
