A quick, easy, and light read. Enjoyed the story line and the characters.. especially Leila.
⁷Well, I didn't hate this book but I didn't love it either.
As we know from the blurb, Minnie and Quinn were born at the same hospital, on New Years Day just minutes apart. Unfortunately, Minnie has grown up knowing that she is unbelievably unlucky and that this is all down to Quinn Hamilton. The baby that was born just before her.
However, they bump into each other on their 30th birthdays and from then on fate seems to keep throwing them together.
I liked Minnie, Quinn and Leila. I couldn't stand Minnie's mother or how she appeared to have a total personality change about 3/4 into the book. No idea what that was all about.
And I couldn't see how or why Minnie was friends out of work with any of the people working for her.
The story was predictable and the ending was all a bit too rushed and tidy for my liking.

a book club read, and I am not exaggerating when I say I almost stopped after 40 pages. However, I am glad I stuck around. This is one of those few books I think could have done better as a movie or miniseries instead of a novel, and I hope to one day see it adapted for the screen!
This book was just really sweet and I loved how it was woven together.
I was so surprised and delighted by how much I enjoyed this quirky charmer of a book. I found myself laughing so hard during the proposal scene that I had tears running down my face. So much of the imagery was laugh out loud hysterical.
Minnie Copper's life would have been very different and easier if she was named Quinn but the woman who was giving birth next to her mother stole the name and her good luck. Her birthday is when her bad luck reaches a new level and she does anything she can to avoid it, but this year she can't avoid going out and this is how she finally meets the man that stole her name and shares her birthday.
The story is being told in different timelines, going back and forth between the past and the present. I liked how we got Quinn's pov in the past timeline.
Quinn's life seems perfect from the outside but looks can be deceiving, he has his own demons to fight that make his life difficult.
The story had a very serendipitous feeling and it gave me many soulmate vibes, they were meant to be, but first they had to overcome personal obstacles in order to be together.
The romance isn't the center of the story but the personal growth for both characters is. It shows how they had to be the best version of themselves before they could be in relationship.
I really enjoyed that we saw their mothers' in the story and that the name stealing was explained and a connection was formed between the two women.
The characters were flawed but written beautifully and realistically.
One thing I didn't like was how they were both in a relationship when they first met and how Quin was dating other girls even though those were superficial relationships but I can understand why it was written like that.
