Cute cover, strong female friendships, but lousy and ridiculous romance between the two main characters. No wonder I struggled to finish this book.

Strong character development: Complicated

Charming, good for an airplane flight. Doesn’t really develop how the female protagonist changed from the beginning to the end, nor how the male protagonist because successful in the first place.

did you know that everyone has problems?

I liked but didn't love this one. I didn't love the main character, and the flashbacks were a bit choppy.

This is a cute book. I wish I would have understood more about Quinn’s mom as she seems to have impacted his life. I also wish there were parts where Minnie, Quinn, and their moms were together as a group.

It’s a cute book. I just feel like it was a bit dry at times? And the MMC just was SO indecisive lol I feel like it dragged a bit more than necessary. Still a cute read though, solid 3

"Be a good companion to yourself and you will never be lonely."

Quinn and Minnie share a unique birthday and more kismet moments than they realize. Weighed down by the weight of past relationships, issues with parents, and perceived notions of bad luck, both Quinn and Minnie struggle with love. Vignettes of New Year's Eve experiences help define each character's story with shared moments snuck in unknowingly to Quinn and Minnie. I cheered for Minnie and grew to love Quinn (and their mothers). This was a surprisingly sweet, fun, uplifting read. 4 1/2 stars.
