first, I want to thank the angel who sent me the ARC.

i want to die. what the HELL WAS THAT ENDING. honestly I loved it though.

one the best things about it this series is the fact that jude and cardan are ALWAYS against each other. going into this book, i was scared that it would be like them getting together and stuff and it all getting mushy, but that was definitely Not the case. I love that the main characters hate each other; it’s so goddamn interesting and so refreshing to all the ultra-love relationships.

another thing that makes this series literally iconic, is that jude is one of the meanest main characters ever. she’s legit murdering people left and right, and is scheming everyone, with no damn remorse. she takes what she wants and she’s not spending 500 pages crying over guilt for the bad shit she does like SOME books we know.

also, i still hate Locke obviously, taryn is a Big Bitch but i sort of (only a little bit) understand why she did it; it was for her father. but still she’s dumb as hell for marrying locke and doing shit for madoc.

i loved the ending, the epilogue was hella on point and just so relatable. i am so fond of vivi and jude’s sister relationship and they really are there for each other, and im so excited because it seems like vivi is gonna be in on the revenge this time.

I love the plotline so much, so much betrayal and twists and the world of faerie is unique and twisted. I love the intelligence of the characters and the political battles

Probably really a 3.5 read. This one suffered from second book syndrome but the series is still worth reading in my opinion. The first half of this book, Jude really dragged. she was missing a lot of her previous spark and wasn't doing much with the power she had in the first book. I also didn't love the time jump between book 1 and 2. I wanted more world building than we really got this book. I will say the second half really picked up and had me immediately starting book 3.
