I am so sad I finished this book.

I am so happy I finished this book.

I am welling up with tears as I type this.

I'm going to have to think about this one before I can write anything coherent about it. All I can say is, this book was everything I want a fantasy novel to be, absolutely everything. It's like Novik reached into my head, saw the book I was longing to read, and wrote it. I passionately loved it, every last word.

I am so sad I finished this book.

i really wanted to give this more because i did love the writing and the worldbuilding and the narrative, it was just all ruined by the stupid abusive romance aspect between the main character and the dragon. there are so many ways it could have been done okay or not done at all and this would be a 5-star book! but no more than 2 stars for romanticizing abusive relationships, sorry :/
