I don't even know...after analyzing this book in class, I think this book is actually really messed up tbh haha

Read this for my reading through the decades challenge. It's a classic, it's meant for kids, but I couldn't help feeling like it was underwhelming. There's no real sense of danger or change, just characters going from place to place and seeing different things. No one learns anything.

Overall, it's fine and people love it for a reason. I just didn't connect with it.

The Usborne version is gorgeous!! This book has stunning illustrations throughout.

My youngest son and I both loved this book! It's got some major differences from the beloved Judy Garland film version but much of the story is the same. It's a wonderfully magical story, perfect for adults to read alone or to share with young readers. My 7 year old was able to read much of the story to me, and I read on the days when he just wanted to listen.

I thought it was a first time read but realized around the arrival of the mouse queen I realized id read this before, likely in middle of elementary school. Probably extremely the correct book for me at that age. Unsure how to rate this as an adult!
