I think I would’ve liked this far more if it were a stand alone novel, it’s a good book, but a bad sequel.
Taking place at the same time as the book prior, though following different characters, it’s a bit of a slog to read all the same plot points over again. It does connect some dots but I think it would’ve been a lot more interesting if it went beyond the timeline and plot of the first book.

It felt so good to be back with these characters and that’s all thanks to the warmth of McAlister’s writing and the regard with which she renders her characters. This queer romance is adorable (I don’t agree with Mandie’s concerns about that word). Those who have read Here For The Right Reasons already know a little of this storyline but it’s so satisfying and delightful to get the full story. The portrait of an abusive relationship is very well handled. I loved this. Australian rom-coms – keep them coming please.

I love the concept of this trilogy - the filming of a season of a Bachelor-like reality show, each novel from the perspective of a different contestant having a VERY different filming experience. This one features the bi rep we live to see, with the contestant who falls not for the guy, but for another contestant.

Another cute book in this series, I liked seeing the Marry Me Juliet season through other characters. I really felt for Mandie, but I did wish we had some Dylan POV to see the development of her feelings.

This one had some stuff going for it, especially with a queer main couple with pretty good chemistry. I love reality dating show romances and this was a fun twist on that. However, it was a repeat of the same events as the first book, but with different characters, which wasn't executed perfectly. The characters were stuck in what they said and did in the first book as side characters and when those scenes came around in this book, they really just didn't fit. Like the things they have to say in those scenes don't really connect to what they're going through in their head, so the author seemed to have a hard time connecting them. Their love story was fun, but not fleshed out. We never got any development on Dylan's kid, Noah. That could have been a cool plot point, but the whole book only took place over the filming of the show, so it was a really quick romance, just like book 1. It was interesting to have Amanda be so haunted by how Jac had conditioned her, but I was bothered that she never realized or acknowledged that Jac was emotionally manipulative and abusive. I would have liked more resolution there.
