I was not crazy about the 1st book because a lot was left unsaid. However, each book is actually getting better and better. I want to pick up the next in the series.
I was intrigued by the blurb on this book, and I was reluctant to try it since it was the third in the series, and I hadn’t read the others. I’m so glad I took the chance. The author does an absolutely great job of making sure new readers aren’t left in the cold with what is going on, and I never, not once, felt I was missing something. This was a very fun and spellbinding book with three friends who go on a ghost hunt because Keira has an unusual ability. She doesn’t remember her past, but she gets some answers in this one, and after reading this one, I’m full vested on continuing Keira, Mason, Daisy, and maybe Harry’s journey in the next book…which I will be anxiously awaiting. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Marking five stars because this series is one of my favorite stories. It’s familiar to other stories in its ghostly themes, yet includes creative, new plot points I have yet to read in a paranormal story. Truly can’t wait for the next installment. Whenever the next book comes out, it’s like getting a visit from a dear friend who hasn’t been in town for a while.
So fun! I have really enjoyed this series, and this book did not disappoint! I really love Darcy Coates storytelling style and I am slowly building up my collection of her books. Definitely recommend for fans of spooky stories.
This was my first book by the author and I really enjoyed it! I have been wanting to read from Darcy Coates for a while now and jumped on the chance to read this. Unfortunately, I have not read the first two in the series yet, but the book did a great job explaining what has happened previously without slowing down the plot too much. I will definitely be going back and reading the first two now! My one drawback is that this did seem to read younger and I had to make sure this was not classified as a young adult. Overall I flew through this and would definitely recommend!

The Twisted Dead by Darcy Coates picks up where the last book left off. Keira is still recovering from her fight with the shade when she receives an invite to Dane Crispin’s mansion. He has left mysterious invitations for Keira, Mason, and Zoe. Reluctantly they attend the dinner and are set on a task that may be impossible and leads them into more danger. This book made me really love Harry. His emo goth personality never fails to make me laugh. This book is creepier than the first two. I feel like this story was executed really well. It left me suspenseful over where one of the crew is. It did have less Daisy in it, which is a real shame. I am excited to read the next book and see where this goes. This one was less young adult, in my opinion, and had parts that left me on edge. This has been my favorite in this series so far. 5/5 stars.
