First things first…..A HUGE THANK YOU to Netgalley, Darcy Coates and Poisoned Pen
Press for the opportunity to read The Twisted Dead: Gravekeeper, Book 3.
.
Darcy does it again in the third book of her Gravekeeper series. The first 2 books were what drew
me in and I can’t wait for the next installment.
.
I’m in love with this series. I flew through the first two books in this series and eagerly awaited the
3rd. Through the stories you understand that Keira has the gift of seeing spirits. She fled her old life
and ended up with Amnesia. After this, she has been able to provide help to spirits with “people
problems,” and people with “spirit problems.” Lets tack in the friends to make an amazing character
an amazing trio. Zoe and Mason have the strong relationship with Keira, plus the slow burn of
romance between Keira and Mason.
.
Darcy tends to write intriguing stories that can leave me creeped out but also feeling good. The
Gravekeepers series has amazing characters, but also gives me the paranormal and eeriness I’ve
come to love from these books. We do get some answers from the previous books, but also left with
a handful more questions. I’m excited for the next book!!
.
If you enjoy horror (but not really scary), paranormal, intense suspense, mystery, and close friends,
then you must read this series!!
.
Again, Huge thanks to Netgalley for the ARC Copy for review. All opinions are mine alone.

At first I was mad about how this story focused on one plot and then shifted to a (seemingly) completely different plot. But the way Darcy Coates brought it all together at the end, tying in subtle details that hadn’t crossed my mind before…utterly brilliant! Now if you’ll excuse me, I need to go pre-order the next book to see where things go next!

A pretty good third installment. I really enjoyed learning more about Keira’s past. It does feel like the story somewhat abruptly switched from A to B plot at times but overall it was good. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC giveaway!

I love Darcy Coates’ writing. She’s so talented at creating truly Hitchcock-like spooky stories with a touch of humor and romance for those who want a good scare without all the gore, unnecessary language, love scenes, etc. I enjoyed the previous two books in the Gravekeeper series and was looking forward to The Twisted Dead. I couldn’t wait to find out more about the mysterious agency after Keira along with more spooky, ghostly adventures with Mason and Zoe. I also couldn’t wait to see more development in the romance between Mason and Keira.

Keira has the unexplained ability to see ghosts and help them crossover. When she arrives in Blighty, she has no memory of her past, but with her unique abilities she’s given the job of groundskeeper for the town’s cemetery. The story picks up right where the second book ends with Keira trying to salvage what she can from her burnt cottage. She receives a mysterious invitation from Dane Crispin to help with ghostly hauntings at his estate and calls upon her friends Mason and Zoe to help. But the mystery proves a lot more complicated than first thought. As they try to unravel the cause of the hauntings, they must delve into Mason’s troubled past. Along the way they encounter people from Artec, the agency out to get Keira, and it’s touch and go as they attempt to hunt her down.

I had a hard time rating this story. I loved the relationships between the three friends. Keira’s brave, intelligent, & compassionate. Zoe’s so quirky and Mason inspires new admiration. While the story was filled with spooky ghosts and an interesting mystery, it started out a little slow for me. Once the mystery of Mason’s classmate was introduced, the story really picked up.

This book delivered on most of the questions I had going in. Keira remembers more of her past and we’re given an explanation of the Artec agency who’s after her with some down right nail-biting encounters. We also learn why Mason dropped out of medical school and gain a better understanding of Dane’s past. However, there are still a lot of unanswered questions and I’m looking forward to hopefully getting more answers in the next book. Also hoping for more romance between Mason and Keira.

I really appreciate Darcy Coates’ gothic stories and am eagerly awaiting the next book. This series would be a fantastic read for YA or cozy mystery/horror fans. While some say this can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the previous books in the series to really get an understanding of the characters and backstory. I received an advanced complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions are my own and voluntarily given.

This book was a roller coaster! I couldnt see the direction it was going and it turned out to be so fun! I flew through the last half to see what happened I couldn’t put it down. I love seeing Kiera and her gang get through ghosty situations. Lots of fun from Darcy Coates!

This book is NOT about the story the summary describes. It touches on it, starts with and ends with it but it spends the middle 200 pages in a completely different story line that is connected to the two previous books (which I haven't read, my fault obviously). But the story we are here for is not the one we get to enjoy, the subplot ends up being the primary and for that I am disappointed. It's literally a race through the last 50 pages to finish off the story the author had completely abandoned. Meh.

First off, please take my review with a grain of salt if this is your genre and/or you type of book. I don’t normally read Ghost/Paranormal Thrillers. I also didn’t read the 1st and 2nd books, so I’m not sure if that plays a part towards my rating.

Kiera receives a note from Dane Crispin to come over to his house, which has been in his family for generations. Her friends, Zoey and Mason come with her to this dinner where they assume Dane will be killing them. They anticipate it so much that they don’t even realize they were invited for the exact opposite reason! Dane cannot get rid of the ghosts around him. These ghosts are his ancestors and everyone from his family tree have not moved on.

Kiera thinks the house is what holds them there so she invites Dane to come back to her place with her friends only to find out that the ghosts travel with Dane. Kiera is determined to help Dane get rid of the ghosts.

During this time, Mason is having a difficult time and asks Kiera for him to find out what happened to his schoolmate who had passed away. Mason feels like if he wasn’t so engrossed with studying that he would have been able to help his schoolmate. No matter how exhausted Kiera is, she decides to help Mason make sure his schoolmate has passed on.

I really enjoyed the beginning part of the book and the dynamic between Kiera and her friends. Towards the middle of the book, it started straying far from what I normally read and I wasn’t that into the book, but I still needed to know what happened and if Kiera was able to help Dane and Mason.
