"A neglected grave struck her as an achingly sad sight; it was like saying the person inside the grave had been forgotten too."

Darcy Coates must be magic, because somehow each book in this series gets even better than the others. She is still a veritable master in using the idea of Chekov's gun; this book brings back details from BOOK ONE and connects them together.

I really enjoy that, so far, these books all take place one right after another. The most time that passes between the books is maybe a couple of days, so everything still feels fresh and new for our characters. They're still recovering when the new trouble starts, and their reactions are believable.

The character growth in this volume is also much appreciated. We've been getting to know a lot about Keira, but in this installment we get a good amount of focus on Mason as well as some insight into Zoe. We also learn more about Blighty, about Keira's past and her abilities, and some even bigger puzzle pieces for the mysterious Artec.

Coates is masterfully weaving a story that's both heartwarming, funny, heartbreaking, and dangerous with a side of terror. I'm absolutely loving it, and I will be recommending this series to everyone.

Thank you to NetGalley and Poisoned Pen Press for a copy of this book.

I really enjoyed the first two books in this series but this one was the best by far! We are still following the story of Keira with her ability to see ghosts who is trying to help a local whilst also trying to learn more about the people hunting her and the reason why. She is accompanied by her two friends Zoe and Mason. It was nice to finally get some answers about Keira’s past and the organization who were hunting her which has been a main question in the past two books. We also got to learn more about Mason’s time at Med school and Zoe’s mother which was nice. There was so much happening in the last 1/3 of the book so of which is not resolved and will lead into the next two books. Darcy Coates is one of my favourite authors and I can’t wait for book 4!

It probably isn’t for everyone, but I can say with absolute certainty that this is one of my favorite series. I’m so excited for the next spooky adventure with Keira, Mason, and Zoe

I wish Keira and Zoe would get together 🥲 Zoe is my absolute favourite character, she’s a truly loveable dope with hilarious opinions and ideas. Keira, I feel, is a strong female protagonist. A lot of time Mason just seems to linger about, only useful really for his first aid abilities, which I guess is useful. I’d say Harry, being ridiculous and hilarious probably makes a more interesting character than Mason. But that’s just what I think

I just love this series! It kills me that she only comes out with one book a year, but they’re so worth it! Super fun series to get into if you like the paranormal, great characters, and a fun mystery!
