I picked this book because I suddenly have an urge to read a romance involving boy band, but unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it as much as I want too. Everything happens way too fast(Especially the conflict and the resolution),the dialogues are way too cheesy and I can’t even picture the MCs as 16&17 y/o. They sounds younger and I always have to remind myself of their age.

Without a doubt, this book was all kinds of sweet. I absolutely loved it! I was not expecting the story to be as engaging as it was, but it completely held me captive until the very end. Aimee and Miles were fetching.

Aimee and the Heartthrob had so many interesting characters. Ryder, Trev and Becky got my attention. I could not help but wonder what the future might bring for each one of them.

He never noticed her before, but now she's all he can see...

Miles Carlisle is every teen girl's fantasy. His rugged good looks and exotic British accent have helped catapult his boy band, Seconds to Juliet, to super-stardom. But after two disastrous and very public breakups, Miles isn't interested in dating just any girl; he wants The One. And the only girl he's interested in is not only his best friend's little sister - and off-limits - but won't even give him the time of day...

As a kid, Aimee Bingham had a huge thing for Miles...until he made fun of her for always tagging along. Now that she's outgrown both him and her pigtails, the prospect of spending two weeks on tour with the childhood crush who broke her heart isn't exactly enticing. Except now Miles seems interested. Very interested. And no matter how hard Aimee tries to resist him, her crush is definitely making a comeback. But everyone knows that falling for a heartthrob is a backstage pass to heartbreak...

Quick Reasons: adorable, heart-fluttery romance; ALL THE FEELS EVER; complex, well-written characters; lots of wit and snark and yummy feel-goods; star-crossed lovers, of a sort; great brother/sister relationship; the piano song (both versions!) is literally everything; cute, quirky, quick read; my heart melted

I know, I know...I totally broke my “ARCs only” theme for this month, but give me a break! I made it most of the way through, and caught up pretty quickly. C'mon, guys—I was desperate for something cutesy and butterflies-in-the-stomach inducing. Can you forgive me?!

And, ohmah penguins, this book was absolutely adorable! I wasn't sure, when I picked up this entire series just this morning on Kindle (yeah, yeah, book buying ban?! what even is that?!), that I'd actually like the series. It seems, looking at the goodreads ratings, that people didn't really LOVE these books. But guuuuuuys.... I! LOVED! THIS! BOOK!

He lifted his chin and looked at her reflection. “Did you call me an assjacket again? I gotta say, it sounds like a compliment coming from you.”

“No, not that.” She sucked in a deep breath, blew it out, then turned to face him. “I said you're cocky, and that you think you're God's gift, and that you wear too much product in your hair.” She bit her lip. “I'm sorry.”

Miles stared at her for a second, then burst out laughing.

“You're not mad?” Her stomach still knotted with worry.

“I've been accused of worse.” He slid a hand to the side of her neck, causing her pulse to jump. “Deny it all you want, but I know you love my hair.”

Like, okay. The characters? Super adorable. I love how snarky, cool, and collected Aimee is. I love how down-to-earth and romantic Miles is. I love?! how much I absolutely loved these characters—particularly their interactions. Their relationship is complicated, and messy, and frustrating from the very beginning. I had a ton of fun watching them go through the stages of “getting to know you again” and finally, blissfully, admitting that perhaps there's something more there than just a surface-level attraction. Of course, this book is NOT without it's fair share of drama or angst—hello? They're teenagers, in love for the first time. There's going to be drama. Mistakes are going to be made.

While the plot doesn't range high on the “fast-paced” or “action-packed” meter (I mean duh, it's a romance book, what do you expect?) the read was quick and easy to fall into. My heart literally melted a good half-dozen times, if not more. I absolutely adored certain scenes—particularly those of the forbidden kisses snuck in secluded corners variety. This book took me back to that high school romance feeling—the one you'd give literally anything for. The one that surpassed everything, that took your world over, that made you do things you never thought you could. The nostalgia for me was high during this read, and I loved every minute.

“Dude, I know you're not blind to that. She's the kinda girl poetry is written about, wars are waged, kingdoms fall.”

Overall, this was a cute, snarky read, and I am SO glad I decided to pick it up. I can't wait to dive into the next book in this series—and probably will be doing so immediately. I recommend to lovers of contemporary romance, “falling for the boy in the band” novels, and forbidden loves. I mean, not to mention, if you're anything like me, you'll have butterflies through most of the read. This romance? Swoon-inducing.

*I was provided a copy by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

A few weeks ago Entangled: Crush added the complete Backstage Pass series to NetGalley and I had to request it right away. Here’s the thing, I love rock star books, I love cute young adult contemporaries and I love Entangled: Crush so why shouldn’t I request it right?? Aimee and the Heartthrob is the first book in the series and while I didn’t love it completely I also didn’t hate it.

This book has one of my favorite tropes, the brother’s best-friend one, and I was really excited to read this book but it ended up being kind of meh. One of my main problems in this book were the characters… I really didn’t like them and they were kind of annoying, especially Aimee. I know she’s only 16 years-old but sometimes she was too immature. I had a lot of problems with her and with some things she did but my biggest problem with her was what she did when she was younger. I understand people who write fanfiction and I also understand when teenagers idealize a life with a celebrity but what Aimee did when she was 14 was kind of creepy and weird as hell. Miles was a little better than Aimee and I really liked him but he also got to my nerves. I hated that he kept treating Aimee like a little kid when they were younger because she was only one year younger that him. I also hated when he looked like a horny pre-teen. If you can’t even see a girl’s shoulders without getting horny you’ll have a lot of problems Miles. Another thing I didn’t like as much is that sometimes he wasn’t that smart and made dumb assumptions. Dear Miles, a girl wearing a ponytail doesn’t mean she didn’t have time to shower… I don’t know if you know this but sometimes girls use ponytails for other reasons. It might seem that I didn’t like this book at all but I quite enjoyed it. I especially liked Aimee and Miles together. They were super cute and they really helped each other with their problems.

Now let’s talk about their problems and my problems with their problems. For me this book would have worked way better if both Aimee and Miles were older. First of all, I don’t but that any responsible parents would make their 16 year-old daughter spend 3 weeks in a tour with a rock band only because her 19 year-old brother was there working. I also don’t buy that a teenage girl (who is not featured in the book) would release a tell-all book were she would talk about all the details of her first time with a teenage rockstar. And I don’t buy that in the weeks Aimee spent on tour her brother and Miles’s mom didn’t try to see how she was doing and what she was doing during her days. There were a few other situations that I think would have worked better if the characters were not teenagers. However, I still couldn’t see these characters as adults because they were too immature sometimes. There was also one situation that I think it would have worked better if it had been way more than two years since Aimee and Miles saw each other.

Overall, this was a quick fun read. While I had a few problems with the book and was frustrated a few times I still think it was an okay read and cute. I just hope book 2 is better because I’m expecting great things from Ryder, the bad boy from the band.

My fangirl heart is just bursting. MAKE WAY! MAKE WAY! SECONDS TO JULIET is finally here. Heard about them? The newest and HOTTEST bookish BOYBAND there is! And ladies and gents, Miles Carlisle is on the spotlight. And things are about to get really swoony around here.

Aimee had a huge crush on Miles since forever and though she's still on the middle of Operation: forget-about-Miles propaganda, sparks can't stop flying when they saw each other again. And now sparks won't definitely stop flying now that they're about to spend a lot of time together and Miles just found about Aimee's crush on him.

Obviously, Aimee is the luckiest girl ever. From the first chapter, I instantly liked Aimee. Shes a mixture of sugar and spice. She can be sweet and adorable, but can totally be sassy and sexy too. Basically, she's what most of the girl population is trying to achieve. I always had a love-hate relationship with rockstars. Whether they're from books or real life. They just seems to be always hurting you know? Which can lead to them being overly dramatic and me being annoyed. But on the other hand, they can be really, REALLY sweet. Miles is a perfect characterization of a teenage rockstar. He can be really broody, but he can also be super sweet AND adorable. I swear, he jut killed me. I sighed, I swooned, I laughed, I FELL INLOVE. The characters are superb! Lets hug Ophelia for bringing Miles to our lives.

The romance was completely sweet. There was a lot of grinning, a few tears, a lot of swooning and wishing me and Aimee could just trade places. Best friends turns into lovers are really not that unheard of. But with all the music tours, making Miles british, having an overprotective brother, and the witty and humorous writing.. Ophelia just made this book like a pot of gold. If you would ask me right now what book will I be recommending? A&TH will always be in the tip of my toungue.

So yeah, I love this book. I just want to hug Ophelia, and Aimee, and the S2J boys and Miles. Maybe I'll hug Miles a little bit longer. Maybe I'll ask for a kiss too. Overall, reading this book is just a treat. So sweet I think it gave me cavities, and I'm not even complaining. Cannot wait for the follow up books!

This was a great story of young love and the misunderstandings that come with it.  I enjoyed the story of Aimee and the Heartthrob who just happens to be a childhood friend of her brothers. She fantasizes about what life would be like as his girlfriend and even writes about it not expecting anyone to every see it. Sometimes young love just can't be kept down and flourishes once everyone is on the same wave length. Great story.

I don't know if am going to write a review on Aimee and the Heartthrobe on my blog. I did enjoy it, it was entertaining and fluffy but it was predictable, chessy at times and very clique. I didn't like the writing all that much and like I said before predictable. Miles was really fustrating at time, he really isn't a male protagonist that I enjoyed he was pushy, anger, and annoying. I liked Aimee but she is very naive, which took away a lot from the novel. I did enjoy it, I just didn't love it but would like to read the next book in the series.
