It takes me far to long before I pic up the next books in the series. Keep waiting for them the get available to read on my book app. Rizzoli and Isles just keep on getting better and better and which each new case I'm reading about I'm absolutely glued to the page and read it all in one sitting. Ab absolutely intense and exciting read. The books follows a grusomemurder on a taxidermist and quickly escalates when the fur of a snow leopard is stolen from his home and another body is found shortly after. A puzzling case as there keep coming up more lose ends but also clues. Always intensley interesting and I was wholeheartedly focused on the story. Loved it!

I have been reading this series for three years, since I started watching the tv series. The books and the series are different, but I enjoy both. This book starts out with a grisly murder. Detectives Rizzoli and Frost are called to scene of an especially gruesome murder. The dead man, Leon Gott, is found hanging from the ceiling. He has been eviscerated and hung up like a hunter hangs a deer. ME Maura Isles is also called to the scene. Dr. Isles ultimately plays a significant role in tying this murder to other murders and helps track down a serial killer.
There are two stories in this book which do connect. One story takes place in Botswana, with a group of tourists on a wilderness safari. Members of the group are being murdered, one by one. The second is the murders in the U.S.
Leon Gott had 2 cats and 1 dog. The dog is adopted by a neighbor. One of the cats stays hidden in the dead man's house, with Frost leaving food for it. The second cat is adopted by Maura. This leads to some funny lines for cat lovers/haters.
Some cat quotes:
Maura--"Could anyone truly trust a cat?"
Rizzoli to Frost, discussing the second cat: " Why don't you adopt it?"
Frost: "I'm a guy."
Erin Volchko, Boston PD lab tech: "A single cat sheds hundreds of thousands of cat hairs in a year."
Maura, musing about the cat turning up his nose at ordinary cat food and ignoring her after he had rubbed against and purred and followed her at the crime scene: "It was the universal lament of disappointed wives: He charmed me, wooed me, and now I'm his maid."
This book is a real page turner. I read it in 3 days. A well done mystery with enough twists and turns that left me guessing until almost the end.
I purchased this book.

This is a delicious series of books. The mysteries are always taut and unusual, while Jane Rizzoli and Maura Isles are complex and compelling protagonists. Dr. Isles, in particular, is fascinating: emotionally reserved, yet broken and heartsick. Die Again continues to explore how the events and choices made in the previous novels continue to haunt her. Jane, meanwhile, is trying to be the best friend she can when fundamentally she has trouble connecting to Maura's psychological and philosophical dilemmas.

The structure of Die Again is interesting, as the action keeps flipping from a Boston murder investigation and an African safari gone horribly wrong. How the two connect its revealed relatively early, but the why is the heart of the story and makes for a suspenseful read.

I want to thank the publisher for sending me this first read book. It was another fantastic book by Tess Gerritsen. I just loved the characters and the story line. I was anxious and held in suspense during most of the book. The ending totally came as a shock and that was great. I hate being able to predict the ending.

Well, I never want to go on an African safari trip after reading this book. As with all Rizzoli & Isles books, I was captivated from the very beginning and couldn't put Die Again down. I enjoyed the duel stories and liked that the Botswana tale was clearly written and easy to follow (not always the case with this series).

I could do without the constant mention of Warren Hoyt and Daniel Brophy - it's hard to tell how much time has passed for the women between novels, but there has to be more Gerritsen can do to progress their lives.

This was better than the last rizzoli and isles book, which I was quite disjointed with. I thought the story was really good in this book and it certainly kept you guessing. It did feel like a bit of a rush at the end though, and I think it could have been better having a more anticipated lead up to finding the killer rather than it all seeming to happen in the last two chapters.
The story set in Africa is what had me gripped the most I think and I felt like skipping some parts just so I could read more of the Africa part, so it would have been nice to read more about Millie's survival in the bush.
Overall it was good, but there was no focus on rizzoli and isles as characters, this one is much more about the crime story rather than the character development.

Typical wonderful reading, compelling story. I did not find the ending logical, for once.
