When I have a bad day, week or month, I can always count on David Sedaris (often) ridiculous airplane stories to cheer me up.
Since this was a compilation from his other books, I got to re-read a few from Calypso.

One of my favourite writers. I had read some of the pieces in here before and was still laughing out loud. I will be honest though, I did not love the short stories. They weren’t bad, but not my cup of tea for story writing.
A great collection of Sedaris' best stories - funny, heartwarming, raw accounts of family life as it is: never perfect, but always yours to love-hate!
Goodreads has had some outages today, so this might not post. I think I've read all of Sedaris' books, so reading his "best of" collection is likely superfluous, but it's also a bit of a trip down memory lane. The audiobook has a nice interview at the end, which was nice. Hearing these tales again makes me want to re-read the books themselves, but I know I'll never get around to that.
If you're a fan, you'll love it. If you're new to Sedaris' work, it's a great start.

Fantastic stories as always from David Sedaris. The only real drawback is since this is a compilation of greatest hits, it has less of a curated feel to it than his other books. An entertaining read nonetheless, if you’re a casual reader who likes a book that you can pick up and put down easily, then this is a great introduction to the author

Maybe I just haven’t read enough of the genre(?), but David Sedaris is a singular writer. I’m sure at this point there’s hundreds of aspiring New Yorker columnists trying, but I don’t think it’s possible to imitate his style, humour and wit.

If you have a sibling or a family, you'll love David Sedaris, especially here in his highlight reel. His sharp wit and tender eye cast across his life makes me want to read, write and love my family (and all our flaws) even better.
