Girl drama blah, blah, blah...
Good things:
1) At least interesting enough that I finished it
2) Some character growth
3) The parents actually had some depth as characters

Although this was not the best book I've ever read, I did really enjoy it. I think for it's target audience (middle school girls) it was very well written and I loved how chock full of literary references it was. It also has plenty of good moral lessons, but not delivered in a preachy way - like I said, perfect for middle school girls.

book club choice this fall
Cute. Brought up some interesting "tween" issues, but everything was very pat/simplistic (including the writing) - even given the intended audience, I thought.

It's really good and has real middle school experiences that some people might be able to relate to.
