This book was enjoyable, but I feel like it could have been better. I enjoyed the tension between the main characters, but so much more could have been done with it. I also didn't particularly like some of the decisions the characters made.
One example: FMC wants relationship that could possibly lead to serious commitment. MMC says he doesn't believe in love and marriage. FMC decides they can't pursue anything romantic. FMC then becomes jealous and calls man "man ho" and "why don't you go sleep with the hot blonde with no strings since that's what you want?" because she saw the blonde flirting with the MMC. With that, the FMC very effectively proved to the MMC why his thinking about relationships might not be wrong. I just rolled my eyes at this part and was very disappointed the MMC didn't point out to the FMC that she was making a bad case for serious relationships. Getting irrationally jealous and lashing out at him in anger, when they aren't even together, doesn't exactly make someone want to take a leap and get into a relationship.
With that being said, I enjoyed the secondary characters and was intrigued by the possibilities for the next two books in the series.

Fun read

Strong female character and interesting character development. Fun and lighthearted read that I finished over the weekend. It would be a good beach read.

I LOVED this book! The chemistry between Avery and Carter felt so real. I loved reading about the wedding planning business in a small beach town. This book was perfect for summer and makes me want to go the ocean more than ever. Any book that can make me laugh, swoon and even bring a tear to my eye while really transporting me to the setting is a win. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

Good story

Writing is easy to get into, characters interesting and no cliffhanger. I will read book 2 eventually and continue to follow this author.

This book is exactly what we all need right now - true honest love, acceptance and finding comfort out of your comfort zone. Carter never understood or cared for marriage and love, but when his sister Ally uses Avery as her wedding planner things start to change. On the other hand Avery thinks of carter as being pig-headed and bossy. But once she sees "Robot-man" in a different light the two find themselves in a deeper connection. Will Carter finally admit he has fallen in love or wil he once again fall back on his old thoughts? Can Avery get him past the baggage he carries to find his HEA? With absolutely adorable characters - including Carter's dog Lucy as well as Avery's sisters - and a storyline that gives the reader warm fuzzies this was a wonderful beginning to what I think is going to be another great series.

I was lucky enough to get this as an eARC and I have to say that I now want to travel to Cape May and have the Sunshine sisters, Gabe, and Carter plan my wedding even though I just had my dream wedding 2 years ago! We didn’t have a wedding planner; not something that was in our budget so we planned it ourselves with the help of family and friends. If the Sunshine sisters, Gabe, and Carter has planned out wedding it would’ve been even more perfect! I truly have a huge respect for wedding planning even more now!

I knew Avery and Carter would have a crazy, passionate story as soon as I met their characters! Y’all, Jennifer absolutely KILLED the bestfriend’s bother and enemies-to-lovers tropes!

Avery and Carter had amazing banter, chemistry, passion, and from the moment he made her mad, I knew that was the beginning of a wild adventure for these two!

Bets, competition, summer fun, letting go, unlocking your true self, secrets, poetry, art, drama, sexy times, cute dogs, and love are what makes this story phenomenal!

Carter and Avery find more than just love, they find themselves and it’s beautiful to witness!

I’m waiting not so patiently for more Sunshine Sisters!

I picked up this book from Kindle First Reads because Publisher’s Weekly wrote, “The characters leap off the page, the love story is perfectly paced, and an adorable dog named Lucy adds charm.” There’s also a charming little girl . . . The heroine pulled me in right away. I felt for her & was less charmed by the hero—until later in the story. This story reminded me of an early Nora Roberts style contemporary romance (so expect the same type of language & intimate scenes to skip or skim) about three sisters & their suitors. A quick, fun read.
