3.9 AVERAGE

As cerebral and complicated as the first book in the series, but Abrams made it a little more accessible to the lay person this time.  I’m growing to love Avery Keene!  And what a great adversary she created.  I can hardly wait for the next installment.  (But if you need to run for President before you write the next one, Ms. Abrams, I understand.  You have my vote!)

4.5/5⭐️

I loved this book, and couldn’t put it down. However- it referenced the events of the first book so much and didn’t give any ICYMI or reminders about what the minuet details meant- and seeing as I read the first book 2+ years ago- it was hard to piece together some things. However- that was only a very small issue I had with it.

You might know Stacy Abrams as a badass politician from Georgia but did you know she also writes great political thrillers? This is the 2nd in the Avery Keene series - great just like the first one!

Picking up shortly after the end of "When Justice Sleeps," brilliant lawyer Avery Keene has been grilled by the government and public opinion. She is trying to keep a low profile until another clerk from Idaho tracks her down at a conference to give her information about his recently deceased boss. When the clerk is murdered before her eyes, Avery and team must help divert disaster once again, while also avoiding other enemies.

I love this clever series. Avery Keene is a remarkable FMC, and the action is well-paced and delivered. Yes, there is a lot of policy, legal, and governmental language, but it never feels daunting. Stacey Abrams uses her extensive experience and knowledge to keep readers captivated while all hell breaks loose around the characters! It is a must-read series!

Rogue Nation is a sharp, timely political thriller with compelling characters and smart twists. Stacey Abrams blends high-stakes suspense with real-world political drama, keeping you hooked despite a few slower moments. Gripping, thoughtful, and worth the read.
