This book felt like a really good ending to the series, but I was just so frustrated with Lily’s family through out the entire book. But other than that I really liked it!

A strong finish to a series I really liked

I appreciate that this book focused just as much on Dash overcoming his adversity as Lily did hers. I did find that Lily’s character development reset in certain ways at the beginning of each book in the series. It didn’t feel like she was truly learning lessons, but just progressing through life.

I don’t think I cared for the writing in this one as much. But I did like the resolution between Lily, her mom, and Mrs. Basil E. I thought that was written well. Dash’s ending was a little too cheesy for me lol. I just don’t connect with the humour in these books at all.

The second book was my favourite. I think I liked the first one better, but could also be tied.

The end of the Christmas trilogy.
Yet another sweet comfort book to get lost in. Besides Lily’s obnoxious, controlling and I may even say-toxic family, this book met my expectations. Nothing deep, but gives you that fuzzy holiday feeling.

Despite Christmas

I ended up liking this series much more than I thought I would. Despite its Christmas setting, the characters feel real because of the struggles (not involving Christmas) that they go through. Dash's journey in this last one is particularly important. You don't usually find such well-described panic attacks in fiction.
I hope there is a fourth book.

Better than Twelve Days of Dash and Lily but worse against Dash and Lilys Book of Dares.

2.5
This only works as an audiobook since so much of it feels like it's in summary. I wish they'd focus less on learning lessons and more on the two main characters enjoying time with each other

Better than the second book, but I still think Lily is a little obnoxious and makes way more problems than Dash. I wonder if they’ll do more in this series. I think these characters are a little played out now, but of course that wouldn’t stop YA authors from dropping a new book if the publishers think it will sell.
