Very whimsical. This book is Alice in Wonderland if Alice was a man and wasn’t the main character. It has run on sentences and strange words sometimes. But it’s still one of my favorite reads.

It's alright.

I really enjoy most of Neil Gaiman's other writing, this one just didn't do it for me for some reason. I found the plot quite dry and Door a waste of potential (didn't have very much characterization). Many of the other characters were fantastic (I LOVE the Marquis and I even found Richard quite likeable), and the creativity and imagination Gaiman possesses is just unmatched.

There were so many interesting moments but every time I picked up this book I had to force myself to do so.
Objectively, this is pretty good, but compared to other books by Neil Gaiman and my personal tastes it doesn't really appeal to me. I would still encourage lovers of urban fantasy and fantasy in general to read this.

This is the first urban fantasy book I've read and it seemed kind of silly to me, honestly. Not a big fan- I probably would have given it a two, but I enjoy Gaiman's sense of humor.
