I loved Knox in his brother's book. I was dying for his book. Jenshak did not disappoint and giving me all the feels with this motocross hottie with an Olympic gymnast. Avery truly put up with nothing and dishes it right back to Knox and I think he needed that in his life. Along with feeling there’s always somebody in his corner and has his back. Enjoyed seeing two different sports that I’m not as familiar with and the athletes dedication to making their dreams happen.

Audiobook with duet narration! I really enjoyed it and loved seeing some less common sports that the main characters participated in.

Those who train together....

I really enjoyed this story of Knox, the playboy motocross racer with a short temper, and Avery, the Olympic gymnast struggling with a comeback from an injury. Their enemies-to-lovers meet cute and banter really made this story standout. Even once they found their groove together, the banter between them was so fun and engaging. I loved everything about the two of them.

This is a very different type of sports romance and I really enjoyed that our two MCs were dedicated to two different sports and the only reason they cross paths was due to mutual friends. Their dedication to their training and goals was a nice plotline. Knox is cocky and stubborn but his emotional and vulnerable moments really show his big heart. I absolutely loved his character. Avery is confident and sassy. She doesn't back down from what she wants and while she has some insecurities when it comes to her comeback in gymnastics, when it comes to Knox, she lays herself on the line. She is comfortable with her boundaries which I very much appreciated.

Overall, there is great banter, engaging plot, swoon worthy moments and great spice. I really loved this story so much and I am definitely keeping an eye out for the next book in this world.

I listened to the audio version of this book and it was such a great performance. The duet narration from Erin Mallon and Teddy Hamilton is chef's kiss. They absolutely made these characters come alive and for anyone wanting to dip their toes into the audiobook world, this is a great one to start with.

Loved this book!

I really loved this book! I enjoyed finally getting to know Knox and learn more about why he made the decisions he made for his family. I loved seeing his relationships with his brothers. I also really enjoyed watching them support each other in getting back where they wanted to be in their sports.

𝐈 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐝 reading Rebecca's books at the end of last year, Forever Wild was the first book I read by her and I loved it so much I knew she was going to be a new favorite author for me. I was craving another romance, something good to read in between the fantasy reads and I had Burnout downloaded on my kindle and I've seen so many amazing things about it that I gave it a go. I wasn't even half way through the book and I knew it was going to be a five star favorite...it didn't disappoint.

𝐀𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 suffered a knee injury in gymnastics, which according to doctor's she should be just fine but to take it easy and keep up on her physical therapy...but Avery is someone who puts 1000% into what she's doing. She deals with the pressure from the media basically wondering "Is she going to be as good as she was before or is her career over?" "Was her going to the Olympics the peak of her career?" She doesn't like to fail, she trains pretty much every day for a few hours after classes, she keeps to herself for the most part, has a best friend named Quinn (I love their friendship). Avery's focus is getting her knee back to perfect condition so she doesn't really have time for relationships....or so she thought.

𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐱 is your tattooed bad boy. We learn that he has four brothers....Hendrix, Archer, Brogan (who's Archer's best friend and who is technically not blood related but he's been part of their family since he was a kid) and the youngest Holland brother, Flynn. They lost their mom when Knox was young and their dad has been in and out of their lives and just wasn't a great dad, so Knox stepped up and took care of everyone. He dropped out of high school and got a job to support his brothers and had to grow up way too fast. When he got older he wanted to get back into Motocross, he always loved it and he was part of a team. Things didn't end so well for him when one of his teammates made him crash and Knox got physical with him and he got cut from the team. To work on his "anger issues" he goes to his friend for help who does freestyle and his friend tells him his girlfriend's best friend helped him train to help with his stunts and that girl..... just so happens to be Avery.

𝐈 𝐥𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐝 the banter between these two. They did not get off on a good start but then again neither one of them really knew what was going on in each other's lives so there were a lot of assumptions but once they both let down their walls a little and they became friends (who were attracted to one another) that soon led to more. The spice was (whew) so good. There may even be a scene that involves the motorcycle.....Knox knows exactly what he's doing. He loves to worship Avery. The problem is, they both swore to no relationships and just keep things casual but as hard times appear in each of their lives who do they turn to ? Each other.

"𝑰'𝒎 𝒊𝒏 𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒈𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆, 𝒑𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒄𝒆𝒔𝒔. 𝑩𝒆 𝒂 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒈𝒊𝒓𝒍 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍."

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐁𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 are one of my favorite families. Each brother has their own personality and we get to see quite a bit of them through out the story. The group chat between them was one of my favorite things to read. I'm excited to read the next book in this series, 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐛𝐨𝐨𝐤 which is Brogan's story. Brogan had me laughing in this book so I'm excited to see more of him in his book!

"You're a badass. Own it, princess."

I think both gymnastics and motocross has become new addictions for me... This books was both funny and sweet, lighthearted and a bit emotional, cute and sexy - the tension, banter, chemistry and growth happening with Knox and Avery was great, and the Holland brothers, Quinn, Colton and Hope were all wonderful side characters.

Genre: Contemporary NA romance
Tropes: College, gymnast x motocross, bad boy x good girl, opposites attract, forced proximity (they train together), strangers to friends to lovers.
Trigger warnings: No (but deals with parental neglect)

"Princess, I've been dreaming of fucking you since the first time I saw you in that frilly pink dress and white shoes."
"Really?"
"Really, Avery. That day and every day since."

ARC review:
Knox Holland is the tattooed bad boy motocross racer in need of a new team. Avery Oliver is the sweet good girl Olympic gymnast recovering from an injury. Opposites in (almost) every way, but both with some insecurities, a reluctance against a relationship and so hard-working in order to reach their dreams.

Knox's upbringing hasn't been the easiest and seeing all his sacrifices and his deep loyalty and love for his brothers was one of my favorite things about this story. He has trouble letting anyone else become close to him, and his attitude towards Avery in the beginning is really shitty. I admire how he actually realizes this and makes a conscient effort to be better and apologize.
Avery is such a sweet girl with a big heart, always willing to help. Seeing her struggling with believing in herself was very real and relatable and just made me love her even more. She isn't a pushover and I really enjoyed seeing her stand up to Knox and get the respect she deserves was amazing.

"That's a dangerous thing to say to me, princess. I'd have you bent over my bike so fast you wouldn't know which way was up."

The tension and the banter between Knox and Avery was both funny and scorching hot. The chemistry between them was undeniable! Their reluctance to act on it, but then they couldn't help it - I live for the moments when they snap...
I loved seeing both of their character growths, but mostly seeing them slowly open up to each other and in turn open up to more of life in general was both inspiring and beautiful. They really made each other better - they helped build confidence and the belief they could reach their respective dreams.
All the scenes with them training together was just what I wanted - it was funny, swoony, sweet and helped built a solid foundation and a close friendship. When they later started hanging out outside the gym, things started to heat up, and I totally ate it up!

I love how supportive Knox is of Avery, he always builds her up, boosts her confidence and has a never-wavering belief in her. His nickname for her was also such a nice touch - I love when it stars out sort of like an insult, but later becomes something so meaningful. Also, the dirty talk and the spice definitely hit its mark - especially the motorcycle, man was it hot reading this…

"You're his fucking hero, so start acting like it instead of pretending your dreams are secondary. It's important for him to see you go after what you want."

All the Holland brothers, the relationships, the just overall close family unity they presented was wonderful. I loved it all; the group chats and their never-ending name changes, the banter, the sweet moments, how they could be real with each other and helped Knox see past his past - it was such a good part of the book, and it was great seeing Avery fit in with them.
Also, the parental neglect and the consequences it had was tough and heartbreaking, but I loved seeing them ban together, even if Knox never should have had to give up his dreams (seriously the best brother ever!).

I just want more of this world, and I will definitely go back and read Hendrix (oldest Holland brother) and Jane's story.
