Maisie Dobbs books are like a hot water bottle in the bottom of a cold bed. I find these so enjoyable. I love the characters but I can't help but want for her romantic life to pan out. Love these books!

Once again a well written mystery that saves some mystery till the end. I must say however that Maisie is starting to get on my nerves. Explaining things like a know it all to men who should by way of experience and profession know just as much about the issue as she does.

Well, Maisie's outlook on life may be improving a little but she is still prickly and rather rude and impatient with others, maybe because she thinks she knows more than everyone else.

I'll try the next one but think it's time for her to move on to other cases that don't involve mentally damaged veterans. The books are starting to all run together in my memory.

Great mystery but I took off one star because Maisie Dobbs is such an irritating character.
