For being such a quick read, the repeated jokes of “this was before Google” and “this would have happened and this would have happened” started as the strongest parts but ended up dry. I laughed at times but by the end was often thinking, “I think I already read a different structure of that same sentence.”
funny
I listened to the audiobook which helped me appreciate the author’s life story. I won’t say it it a gripping read but I just kept listening til the end.
Good stuff, fun read. Bite-sized stories of Janetti's life, snarky and biting, slightly less sass than David Sedaris, with whom he compares quite well. There's much to love about this book, lots of lol moments, and it's free of the pathos that can sometimes weigh this sort of collection down.
I came to Gary byway of Brad, his husband, and am so grateful. Gary is so funny and his book is no exception. It is a quick read and a perfect palate cleanser between books!

A fun, quick read by the saucy minx that is Gary Janetti.
His wit, no nonsense attitude, and a sorrynotsorry openness that is beyond refreshing! I drank this up like a fancy cocktail at a boring wedding.
If you don’t follow his Instagram , do it now.... like literally stop reading this review and go. His running “cheeky Prince George” memes will have you rolling!!!
It’s not Shakespeare, children. It is quite socially acceptable to “read for fun”. And that’s what this is .... fun.

I love Gary Janetti's Instagram page and looked forward to more of his humor in this memoir/collection of essays. The humor carries through and I really enjoyed it. I started out listening to the audio book and do not recommend that. Gary is the narrator and I just couldn't stand his monotone cadence. Halfway through, I switched to the Kindle version and realized I much preferred reading his words myself.

Pretty quick and decent audiobook. Some funny parts.
