Amore was one of those books I just had to read. It checked off so many of my favorite genres. Lucas is a police officer. Frankie was the girl next door in a small town. They had been best friends as teens. They had one special night and then she was gone, only to see him again 10 years later. Can you figure out my favorite genres? Cop, girl next door, small town, friends to lovers, second chance romance.

Most of all, Amore was a statement of never ending love. My heart is still a pitter patter two days after reading the story. The story made me feel happy and contented. Amore is a beautiful example of true love and soul mates. I couldn't help but root for Lucas and Frankie to get their happily ever after.

The author didn't make it easy for me. There were some challenges along the way. After all she is a movie star and he is a LA police officer. That alone would make a relationship challenging. How good would an actress be if she didn't have stalker. Just when I started to relax, the author through me for a loop.

Just a little warning: Don't be surprised if you start humming or singing a certain song periodically throughout the story. I think it is time to watch Lady and the Tramp.

Sweet Hallmark-esque Romance

A sweet second chance romance between former teenage best friends with some suspenseful elements. Entertaining and enjoyable, but it did grab my attention. A little more fluffy than I typically read, just a fun read.

Lucas and Frankie have known each other since they were kids and neighbors together. Frankie is a world famous actress and Lucas is a LAPD cop. They meet each other in the most opportune places.
Luke was a LAPD cop who was dating his partner, Candace .. They were celebrating their six month anniversary in Santa Barbara.

I absolutely love that Luke, Lucy & Frankie are finally reconnected I love how much Luke and Frankie are still in love with each other from childhood and are getting the chance to see if their relationship would work. I absolutely loved the twists and turns of this book especially the epilogue

Frankie and Luke first met when they were kids and Frankie moved in next door to Luke’s family. Years later, the two happened to run into one another. While Luke has been in love with Frankie since the moment he first laid eyes on her, he has questions. What happened that night, all those years ago, to make her completely ghost him?
As they reconnect and get reacquainted, things start to go awry in each of their personal lives.
The two attempt to navigate through their relationship, but they encounter several obstacles that threaten their safety. Can Luke keep them both safe?

Like is stringing Candace along while he clearly is still hang up on Frankie. He doesn’t want commitment with his current girlfriend but he also isn’t honest with her. For an adult, he behaves like a child. Frankie is sort of the same but she is in an open relationship and the other person knows it.

4.14 on CAWPILE. Honestly, I only finished it because I read it for a readalong. No development, even for a novella. Think it could have been okay if it was full length, but writing was not good enough to enjoy this novella.

Liked
*The villains, I wish they would have succeeded.

Disliked
*These two knew each other for FOUR years as teens, had sex once, never spoke to each other again for 9 years but yet they're soulmates or some shit.
*He has a girlfriend he's been seeing for 6 months but he sees this girl again and that's all it takes for him to go to lunch, have dinner, become her bodyguard, keep her safe all while still not breaking up with his girlfriend who is rightfully angry and yet she's the bad guy for acting crazy.  Yet he claims he's not cheating when he's been emotionally cheating and stringing her along for 6 months.
*I did not need the dog to say "woof" everything they asked him a question.
*this bitch is 27 and doesn't know how to cook.  That's not endearing that's pathetic.
*Her parents didn't see her ending up with anyone else....she was 18 and knew this kid for 4 fucking years and hasn't spoken to him in 9.  Are you okay!!!
*OH no, they're pregnant after being together for 2 months and getting engaged after not having spoken to one another for 9 years
*Really we're gonna make the wronged ex the bad guy when there was never any evidence that she was unhinged.....REALLY!!!!!
*no chemistry and sex scenes were cringe

READING CHALLENGE: 52 Book Club 2022 Challenge
PROMPT: 41 - Second Chance
TITLE: Amore
AUTHOR: Kimberly Knight
SERIES: ABCs OF LOVE. Book 1

This is definitely a one sitting read that is well plotted from beginning to end.

There are a couple of red herrings that had me second guessing.

The main characters were easy to appreciate and I definitely recommend this story. I am adding the series to my WTR list.
