This is my second book from this author (obv 1st was kingdom of crows book 1 house of beating wings) and book 1 was hard to get through but this book made it worth it.
Cons:
- Fallon
- Multiple spellings of crow language/names used depending on who is talking so you get confused and think one person might be two people come to find out fallon saying it vs someone who is fluent in crow saying it. This was present in the first book also but I didn’t complain in my review because I forgot but this would confuse me so freaking much sometimes… could be a me issue though?
- no visual pictures of Lore and his “forearm”

so here’s the thing. this is an incredibly entertaining story. i think the plot and world is cool- i love the irish and italian inspirations. i generally enjoy the main and side characters, and the romance is fun (if not a bit too heavy on the possessive male side). is this a Great book? i mean it definitely is cringe at times. the dialogue is inconsistently anachronistic in parts, not fitting into the world. i also think the romance was a bit rushed in this one. BUT this is exactly the rest i wanted and i had a great time with it! the ending was exciting and i look forward to the next book!

The first book was intriguing enough. I liked all of the side characters and the storyline.
This book however, was not for me. I could not connect with Fallon at all, her personality annoyed me the whole book.
At first she was annoyed she was "locked up" and didn't leave her room, it was like she was throwing a tempertantrum... Then she kept saying she wanted to be free and wanting to get away from the sky kingdom, even though everyone says it better and safer there for her.
But she finally goes to fae lands again, and everyone is pissed she's there and wants her to go back to the sky kingdom, but she just ignores everyone. She claims to have a "plan" as to why she left, but literally no one tells her anything so she makes half assed plans in her head that don't pan out.
Everyone is hiding stuff from her, no one trusts her with the truth because she is basically a child whining the whole book.
I mean literally what is her point in the story other than she's the only one who can save the crows?? That in itself does not make a character.
