Despite not a lot of actual events taking place during book two, besides a lot of set up for book three. I couldn’t help but blow through chapter after chapter! I was engrossed in this sequel and immediately started book three!
I live for Phoebus & Lorcan!! Fallon is still insufferable but she got a fraction better this book

Fallon’s growth incredible. The love story, incredible. The slow burn, delicious. The emotions, the comedy. But the ending I’m going to go cry now thank you. Have a good day. I’m not reading this cries.

Fallon. Fallon is the reason I didn't finish. I love everything else about this book and series so far. Lore is delicious, and I desperately wanted to read more of him and his sexy shifter crow self. I love the side characters, especially Lore's friends who are actually decent people. The world building and plot had the potential to be amazing.
But.
Fallon.
From basically the first page of this book, I could not deal with this child. And yes, a child, because she's acting like an insolent teenager. Insolent, rude, ungrateful, and petulant. Most actual YA characters are more mature than this. I don't really understand why she's so upset about being "forced to stay" in the Sky Kingdom. Yes, everything she thought she knew has been blown out of the water, so some confusion and hesitancy is expected. But that is not what we got. Honestly, Fallon consistently threw me out of the book so many times because of her behavior. Finally I just realized that it's not pushing through when the book is from her POV. I don't even want her with Lore, if that's how she's going to act. He doesn't deserve that.
Ugh, I'm so disappointed.

Had high hopes the first book was setting up an even better second book, but it didn’t quite get there for me. FMC devolves into being annoyingly stubborn and petulant. (Sweetie, if you don’t want the MMC, step aside cuz I’ll take him.) Enemies-to-lovers was more like “enemies-lovers”, without the buildup of the “TO”, which was kind of jarring and unsatisfying. The first book was so slow that I skimmed over some of the politics and now I’m having trouble catching up and following the game of thrones.
