Gah! This series is SO GOOD! There was some unfortunate withholding of information/misunderstandings that had me screaming, “JUST TELL HER ALREADY!” and Fallon was infuriatingly stubborn for the first 3/4 of the book (kind of understandable, but still), but I seriously CANNOT get enough of this story! On to book three!

Fallon is the worst character I have ever read about in YEARS. Which is awful because I truly enjoyed almost everything else about the book. Fallon is whiny, petulant, childish, immature, and downright stupid. Literally the most stupid female lead in the world. All her decisions are self centered and do nothing but puts the people she cares about in danger, a lesson she finally learns only after the 2nd book. Her friends literally call her out a dozen times about her childish behavior and somehow all their advice goes in one ear and out the other. I'd thought that somehow the first book might've set Fallon up for some intense character growth but she only gets WORSE with the sequel. Literally why couldn't any of the other female characters with an actual *brain* be the lead??
Will I be finishing the series? Yes. I enjoy Lore, though his relationship with Fallon totally feels forced. I feel sorry that a being centuries old is stuck with a girl with the emotional intelligence of a toddler. Tragic. Other side characters like Phoebus, Cathal, and Aoife are great. Somehow they'll get me through the highly possible scenario of seeing Fallon crowned as the world's worst and most stupid queen.
