Gah! This series is SO GOOD! There was some unfortunate withholding of information/misunderstandings that had me screaming, “JUST TELL HER ALREADY!” and Fallon was infuriatingly stubborn for the first 3/4 of the book (kind of understandable, but still), but I seriously CANNOT get enough of this story! On to book three!

Fallon is the worst character I have ever read about in YEARS. Which is awful because I truly enjoyed almost everything else about the book. Fallon is whiny, petulant, childish, immature, and downright stupid. Literally the most stupid female lead in the world. All her decisions are self centered and do nothing but puts the people she cares about in danger, a lesson she finally learns only after the 2nd book. Her friends literally call her out a dozen times about her childish behavior and somehow all their advice goes in one ear and out the other. I'd thought that somehow the first book might've set Fallon up for some intense character growth but she only gets WORSE with the sequel. Literally why couldn't any of the other female characters with an actual *brain* be the lead??
Will I be finishing the series? Yes. I enjoy Lore, though his relationship with Fallon totally feels forced. I feel sorry that a being centuries old is stuck with a girl with the emotional intelligence of a toddler. Tragic. Other side characters like Phoebus, Cathal, and Aoife are great. Somehow they'll get me through the highly possible scenario of seeing Fallon crowned as the world's worst and most stupid queen.

Fallon is just too insufferable, complaining, bratty and just stupid. She is 22, not 15, why is she so imature? When I think ok, she is done throwing a tantrum, something else throws her back into the same spiral. I did not like her much in the first book, but this is another level. Also the book feels dragged on. Stupid conflicts are created for the characters to prolong the plot. Misscommunication, assumption, hiding truths, all the "creative" stuff that I want in a fantasy. The pacing or the connection between stages is strange and I am constantly getting dragged back from the book. So I am done, not worth my time.
Oh well.
The story follows shortly after the Sky King comes to flesh and Fallon is very stubborn. She frustrated and annoyed me to no end but I get that she doesn't want to be contained in a place where she didn't know what to do with, also she very much fought Lorcan to take her back to Luce. If only she was safe for a couple of days in there. Lore is super possessive, obsessive, alpha male energy. We get to know more of Lorcan and Sky Kingdom. There's still a new prophecy that Fallon would only fulfil or it would change the fabric of realm again! It was fast paced with more of romance. Oh, the eel scene. I loved all the spicy scenes. And the ending, what the hell was that! That was crazy and unbelievable. Please gimme me Striking oaths now!!!
