A favorite new adult fantasy of this year so far. I had so much fun reading the first book and learning about this world. It was confusing and I hoped that the second book would help me understand it better.
Which did happen but also not really.
Few aspects of the world did become more clear but I’ve never been more confused by the overlap of connection and bloodline and the overall “what is going on and what is the truth??”
Perhaps that’s the point. Lore even says himself he’s a creature of nightmares. And I think that makes him a pretty good “villain”.
I’m giving this book 4.5 stars because it’s still a fun read, I love the characters, a lot of thought and planning was clearly put into this series and I am excited to read the next book. I also understand that there’s still a lot of confusion in the air because this is only a second book of a four part saga (I think).
Still, I liked first book a tiny bit more so I think 4.5 is a fair rating for this one.

FMC is annoying at time that I was just mad I had to read her rant but the relationship and interactions with her friends is amazing. Plot line so much fun to read. Love this series and can't wait for the next book.
