This was a phenomenal read. The hold this series has on me. The was definitely "middle of a trilogy" and was far more character driven than plot driven like the first book.

Fallon's development slightly regressed in the start of this one, but I also don't blame her for going back to acting like such a child. What she thought she knew about the world, it's people, and herself turned out to be a lie and it was definitely hard for her to come to terms with. I just wish she was more patient and kind to Lore, but lord is she stubborn as hell.

Her friends kind of irked me in this one. I get why they acted the way they did, but also they'd get mad at Fallon's bad decisions but then not explain anything to her and kept her in the dark about what they were up to.

This was a rollercoaster of emotions - Fallon grows into someone willing to stand up for herself and the people she cares about. I'm so excited to see where the next book takes her story.

I need the next one like... now!

I think the 2nd installment wasn't as amazing as the first one, but it was definitely up there. For the first half of the book, I just couldn't understand Fallon's actions, especially when she wanted to go back to her first home. I did feel like she had to overcome her naivety, but towards the middle and end she really does. I also think a lot of her frustrations arose from the fact that no one was telling her anything, even though they're on the same side. Lore definitely dragged out the alliance with Vladmir and Alonya for way too long. I can understand why Fallon was so pissed for such a long time. I really hope Cathal reunites with Daya. Also, I loved how loving Lore became in the 2nd half of the book when all the miscommunications were cleared up. Although, he wanted to keep her safe and within reach, he really did prioritize her choices and did so in such a romantic manner (lol). Overall, the twists and plotline were just as exciting and I'm looking forward to seeing what happens in the next book. Now I have to wait for spring to read the last installment.

"You have a mother?

"Did you think I hatched from a cabbage?"

"I never want you to feel as though I'm cornering you, Fallon."
