Mmmm. Undying was definitely not as good as it’s preceding book, Unearthed. I am trying not to go on a rant about it or give away any significant spoilers, so hopefully this turns out relatively spoiler free (unlikely but hey, nothing wrong with a bit of hope). On the whole, Undying was absolutely fine until the last 50 pages or so. There was this major info dump which spanned about five consecutive chapters or so; this random relationship that sprung out of literally nowhere (like it was actually pulled out of thin air. The two characters barely knew each other and- ok, there was just so much wrong with this relationship); and to top it all off,
Spoiler every side character was miraculously rescued.
(ok, there’s the spoiler). It was honestly quite disappointing, as Unearthed was surprisingly quite good, as was the first part of Undying, but then it just kinda... died (pun very much intended).

Mixed feelings about this book.
It's good and builds nicely on the Unearthed lore. But it could spend more time exploring the mysteries once they are revealed.
Not a bad read, but leaves you feeling like there should be a third book.

Not nearly as good as the first one. A bit bummed..

Definitely didnt disappoint (:

I really wanted to like this book, the first book was good but nothing of this series has any of the grab of Amie’s previous work on Gemina. It’s frequently boring and I couldn’t bring myself to care about the characters.
I thought it had actually made a bold choice in the end with the shooting but it was just another death fake out. Something we’d already seen in Amies previous work as well.
All and all a big let down that didn’t need to be half as long as it was.

Was defs four stars until that ending which was a bit flimsy for my taste. HOWEVER, worth the ride because the tension and suspense was BUILDING and I could not S T O P.
