Deamon, the alien with troubles is still a sexy beast. Phew. Now he is Katy's sexy beast. He is the model boyfriend supportive, attentive, glows in the dark and did I mention he's a sexy beast. He call's her Kitten, purr. Their relationship is finally going forward with about a thousand interruptions. (somebody should learn to use a lock) He struggles with his distant brother and his need to get Beth, his girlfriend back from the evil bad. Then to make matter worse, several somebodies that nobody wanted to see again come back to town, and they bring nothing but trouble.
Katy's faced with her growing issues of troubles. Her BFF is no more, another friend is missing, her mother still loves Will, a turdwad comes back into her life, she is still a virgin and she's finally get's mad and stops being such a wimpy little victim. In the end she still trusted to much. She has not learned the fine art of communication. This girl could have saved herself so much pain if she just spoke up.
The rest of the characters ? Dee's pissy, Ash is Bitchy, Andrew didn't do much, Matthew didn't either. They faded into the back ground for me in this book. Except for two evil nasty, dirty, rotten, flesh bags of wasted space,that shall remain un-named.

It was a thrilling adventure, some beautiful moments finally happened, and then my heart was tossed out onto the highway !

These endless repetions, these super stupid characters..... got on my nerves.
I liked Katys development in the previous books but here she is indecisive and stupid 99% of the time. Daemon also enerves with his two modi: super arrogant (I would have killed him already) and super caring which aren't traits that work together. It feels like no character development happened on his side or even that he has no traits. Due to this, I needed a few breaks from the story because of the nervefullness.

The ending was hardcore tense, but I didn’t connect with this book like I did the previous 2 books. It was kinda boring until the end. I’m also getting frustrated with every single ending of these books ending in a high anxiety cliffhanger. It’s great for wanting to start the next book, but it’s just a little too frustrating for my taste lol.

Opal, Opal, Opal…Purely, breathtakingly amazing. That is Opal. Writing this review is going to be hard. Why? ‘Cause this book was AWESOME! That’s why! Jennifer can spin a tale like nobody’s business. She took me one hell of a ride with this book, and she proved that even the third book in a series can be remarkable.
I cried, I laughed, I rejoice, I sympathized with the characters. I became a part of this series, a part of this world. The world that Jennifer created and I loved every second of it.
‘” Simmer down, Kitten, before I have to get you a ball of yarn to play with.”’
Love has always been stronger. Katy and Daemon are proof of that.
With the past behind them, and a new future set out for them, they both are ready to face it, together. But they know it won’t be easy. Not with the enemies they have, and the secrets they must keep safe.
Dawson’s back and he is not the same.
Dee is handling the loss of someone so dear to her, and she’s not the same Dee anymore.
And the DOD aren't what they say they are, and they aren't the only enemy Katy and Daemon need to
watch out for. Then, someone who shouldn't be making an appearance does and things for Katy and Daemon just got even tougher.
They will show everyone they are meant for each other, and they will protect one another. No matter the cost.

You know that feeling you get on Christmas morning when you were a child? The excitement, anticipation, and hopefulness that bubbles up in your stomach, which causes you to be extremely giddy, maybe even causing you to dance a little jig. And then you awake, and rush down to hall to all those glories presents, hoping and wishing. Your whole body building with excitement, so thick you feel it. Then, as you slowly open each gift, that excitement just builds and builds, consumes you. Each gift perfect and what you wanted, but you know that somewhere among the countless toys is the one you have been hoping, praying and begging your parents for. That one gift that will make all others pale in comparison. Just thinking about it as you rip the paper off each gift, eagerness consuming you. Then, as you get to that last present, your hands shake with exhilaration. Then you rip the paper off like there will be no tomorrow, and there in your hands, the gift you would have sold your left kidney for. Angels sing, light falls from above. The present you wanted, hoped for, right in your hands. The excitement overwhelms you! Well, that’s how I feel whenever I hold one of Jennifer L. Armentrout’s books. And Opal was that present that made all overs pale in comparison.
Maybe that was a bit over dramatic but I don’t care, I will sale my left kidney to have all of her books, like, right now! Opal was just everything I wanted, hoped and wished for. But, it was even better than I expected. Jennifer, she is amazing, and can deliver a story. It’s in her blood.
Katy and Daemon are back and better than ever. Both have grown, and I am so, so happy with where they are. Yes, they are finally getting past their walls and are in a relationship. Now, they still butt heads, that’s just Daemon and Katy. Who would they be if they didn't and honestly, I love it. Now, though, they work together, as best as they can. They are a couple and it shines through brightly. I loved it!! Now, Katy is still a force to be reckoned with, smart mouthed and my kind of heroine. Plus, she’s a book blogger and I honestly love that. I feel that makes her more real and more relate-able. I have always loved this character, I might have a bit of a girl crush on her... Then you have Deamon. Mr. Daemon Black. Dear Lord. That boy. (Excuse while I fan myself) Even though I still wanna smack him some times, yes his infuriating personality is still there, he really has a cute and soft side. Which I loved seeing. And just like in Onyx we get to see another side of this trinity of hot boys. And you will be swept away. He swept me away, that’s for sure. There is some much I love about him!! Katy and Daemon have both grown and have become so amazing in my eyes. They have been tested and challenged, but through it all, they stand so strong. That just makes me love this couple even more.
Dawson is also back, and I have always liked him. But you can differently see a difference in him. That is to be expected. He has been through so much, and what he experience, no one would be the same. But he does try and Katy helps him. They build a friendship, and I feel this helps him cope with everything. Though, slowly, his relationship with his siblings does starts to repair, slowly. But even though he is home, he needs Bethany to be once again in his arms. And just like Dawson, Dee is overcoming heartbreak. I really miss that bubbly girl we met in the first book and I feel Dee is making decisions that are placing the guilt of losing Adam on Katy. Even though, in my mind, she really isn't the one to blame. But as the story moves, they do try to overcome the wall that is between them. I really hope they do.
One thing I have to point out is Katy’s mom. In most YA’s, the parent(s) are barely there. However, I felt Katy’s mom was actually a mom in this series. She takes an interest in Katy’s and Daemon’s budding relationship, sets rules, and is there for Katy. I loved that! She's a mom that is there as much as she can be!!
What I have also loved about Jennifer’s books, other than her wonderful characters, is her writing style. It sucks me right in and places me smack-dab in the story. Like I have mention, she can spin a tale like a goddess of words! Opal is a fine example of that. With the wonderful characters, twists you never expected, the pacing that is perfect, and just an overall brilliant tale. Opal has it all. I was completed surprised with what happened. However, I must say that that ending WHAT THE EVER LIVING GOD!!! Torture!!!! I need, need the next book. My heart can’t take it.
“You and that damn pen.” “You love it.”
Opal was well worth the wait and agonizing anticipation.
However, I am going to need some serious therapy waiting for the next book.
That ending was just pure torture. Why, Jennifer, why must you do 'that' to your readers...
Opal isn't a book to me, no, it's like another reality, one I am so grateful to get to experience.
To say I love and enjoy this series is an understatement.
Now, the long and torturous wait for the next book begins... Along with a lot of crying and ice cream eating...(that's not extreme or anything....)

Sadly I thought it was a bit boring. 😭 it might because the characters are all in school and just young and I can’t take them that serious? I’m pretty sad I’m not liking it as much as I thought I would but I’m going to keep going!
